Do You Think that Sulfate Free Shampoos Do A Good Job?

Do you think they effectively clean your hair, or does your hair still feel dirty after using them?

Do you think they clean sufficiently? If so, what is (are) your favorite sulfate free shampoos?

I think most of em do too good of a job of claning! The first one I tried was aubrey organics and my hair felt so stripped tht I couldnt wait to dc and most of the ones I have tried give me tht exact same effect. However, I did find one I absolute love, shescentit jojoba hemp conditioning shampoo. Try it!

Sulfates make my eczema flare up, so I have no choice but to use sulfate free unless I want a flaking scalp.

I've found that they do the job just as well and my scalp is happier for it. Sometimes they do too good of a job and I've had to try a few different brands to avoid that stripped feeling. Going sulfate free didn't completely get rid of my scalp issues but it is quite manageable now.

Trader Joe's Nourish Spa shampoo is a good one. Organix Coconut Milk shampoo is a favorite. It's kind of like my sulfate free "clarifier". I use it when I have a lot of product buildup. Now I'm using JASON's Biotin shampoo and it is my favorite so far. Day 3 and my scalp is still pink and itch free.

I've only tried Hair One (the Wen imitation) and I use it more as a conditioner after finding it didn't work too well in the cleaning department.

I think they're great! They clean very well, without leaving the hair dry.

I've used, and love, Elucence Moisture Menefits shampoo. I still use Elucence, but I've just started using Costco's brand called Kirkland signature moisture shampoo, and it's great too!

I've been using and loving abba pure moisture for almost 3 years and I love it! I can't imagine using another shampoo. It cleanses very well an doesn't leave my hair dry. I've noticed a difference since I switched.

I believe that they do a good job at cleaning and leaving my scalp moisturized without the irritation...but I still clarify when I do alot of cowashes or use alot of product on my hair. I love Bee Mine Tea Tree & Peppermint Shampoo and One 'n Only Argan Oil Moisture Repair Shampoo. Both leave my scalp happy but Bee Mine is a bit more moisturizing than the One 'n Only. I am in love with the fact that I'm not itching profusely (or at all) when I shampoo.

I LOVE my sulfate-free shampoo! It cleanses well and leaves my hair soft and smooth. I use Donna Marie Superlatherlicious, and I use Bee Mine Rhassoul Clay Poo Bar to clarify. My hair made a complete turn-around when I started using more natural products.

i love sulfate free. i still use sulfate shampoo to remove build up from cones, maybe once every 6 weeks or so. but sulfate free cleansers are my staples.

here's my favs --

Hairveda Amla Shampoo --- i use this when i want to flat iron and want my hair to be light and fluffy.

Hairveda Amla Cream Rinse ---this is my regular weekly cleanser. it is a cream. no suds. this gets my hair clean and light enough to flat iron, but for some reason i still want suds. so i use the shampoo version when i do decide to flat iron.

Deva Curl - lo poo --- nice product. available at Ulta. which is a plus. no ordering.

Shescentit - Peppermint Shampoo ----i love this product, but they are always out of stock. i can't be bothered to keep checking.

Blended Beauty - Soy Creme Shampoo --- love, love, love this for mine and my son's hair. but got tired of shipping from so many companies. i chose to consolidate my vendors.

Yes, and shampoo bars work really well too. Actually I prefer the shampoo bars. But like with any product you have to find the one that works for you. Don't give up after one try.

I love the ones that are cocobetaine based, all of them no matter the brand, but I don't like soap based shampoos (Aubrey's, castile soap, shampoo bars)at the moment as I have hard water (maybe I'll get a water filter, never tried). Giovanni 50:50 takes off everything without stripping my hair, I love it. I once did something extreme washing my hair with diluited Rhassoul and it was very cleaning, yet I was able to finger detangle while rinsing... but my hair got 4 times bigger, there was a sort of explosion LOL great if you need a lot of volume and shine, though.

I generally buy Giovanni or cheap natural baby shampoos in health food stores (they are oten clear and made with cocobetaine) and they all work well.

They work for me. I had to stop using sulfate shampoos because they gave me dry white patches on the scalp. I use EQP Creme Conditioning Shampoo or Trader Joes Tea Tree Shampoo. Really love the Trader Joe's one but I have a salon sized bottle of the EQP I want to finish first before repurchasing.

I use Earthly Delight Herbal Shampoo (it's sulfate-free), and it cleanses my hair very well. I detangle with conditioner and oil on dry hair, so that is why my hair never feels stripped after using it.

I like the one I use! SheaMoisture Moisture Retention poo...I'm using the curly one now (forgot the name), but I'm switching back to the SMMR.

But I do like some poos WITH sulfates, like Cream of Nature...and I clarify occassionally with Kenra...

I use both with SLS and without and love them without preference as they both clean my hair well.

Of those without SLS, Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Hydrating Clarifying, Trader Joe's Nourish Spa are staples.

My hair and scalp love sulfate free shampoos. They do a great job, but I can only speak for the lathering types. I am currently using Keracare's 1st lather & hydrating detangling shampoos.

The Bee Mine Tea Tree is ok and the newer one, the Bee Mine Botanical is a lot more moisturizing. These are the only 3 sulfate free ones I've tried so far.

I alternate between CON (old version, has sulfates) and the Curls Cleansing Creme (no sulfates). I like both equally.

You need a clarifying shampoo for build-up. Sulfate-free shampoos doesn't thoroughly remove build-up.

I use Kinky Curly Come Clean as a clarifier and Keracare Hydrating Detangling as a moisturizing. I like them both a lot. Sometimes I use a Shikakai bar to clarify as well.

I like them, but I have to clarify once a month to remove build up and keep my hair from looking dull from product build-up.

I use Kenra. It clarifies and chelates.

Shampoo Bars from mehandi, Shea Moisture Shea Butter Shampoo, and Giovanni 50:50 balancing clarifying shampoo are my non sls poo's.

I like them as when I use SLS poos I need to coat my hair in olive oil which kinda makes my scalp still feel not as clean. With these they aren't oil stripping but still clean quite effectively.

It seems to work well at removing product build up. I never used it alone, always with the hydrating shampoo. It is not as stripping as the typical clarifying shampoo, so I don't know how it will affect flat ironing results. Hope this helps.
