Do you NOW assume....

Since joining LHCF I have noticed a few women with apl-bsl hair, and I am now willing to give women the benefiit of the doubt but I am still seeing A LOT of shoulder length (or shorter) hair.
I think I can tell the difference between hair and weaves fairly easily and
there's a lot of extensions going on round here.

Since I love weave spotting like it's a sport, :lachen: if I can't tell it's a weave then I deduce it's theirs.

I ahve been noticing a looot more long hair after I have started my hair journey. It's like G-d is tourturing me.

:lachen::lachen::lachen:

My poor husband was surely disillusioned when he met me. I can usually spot them a mile away. My poor stepson is always touching my hair 'just to make sure'. He never knows if it's a half wig, a full weave or my hair. So funny. I do get haterish though.

Especially if they have that full from the inside confidence that healthy long hair enhances.

They have different ways of doing weaves these days to make them less noticeable that it's a weave. Before LHCF, I wouldn't pay no attention to those around me sporting hair that's b/t APL and BSL(but definitely not BSL) and under, because it was simply the norm for most of us in my area. But anything longer than that, you AUTOMATICALLY KNOW that it's either a wig or weave. There's currently ONLY 1 person in my area who has BSL hair and it is definitely all her hair.

Now after joining LHCF, I honestly just look at the hair and how it's styled, and not whether it's a weave or not since weave has come a long way nowadays. But some of these BSLs, WLs, TBLs women, you WILL NOT see around here, with the one person at BSL being the exception.

^^^what she said. i can usually tell, but i don't ASSUME. i have been thrown for a few doozies though... took several glances to tell for sure... :lachen:

Same here... A trained eye knows a weave though. I've caught people doing the same thing to me on a few occasions.

I've never been very good spotting weaves except on white females. I've seen a few not-so-good ones in person, even on television with some celebrities.

I've been studying women hair for the longest (b4 lhcf), it was so bad with celebs on tv that my hubb woul be like she's got a weave! Alot of times it's easy to tell if you're all up in folks mane especially celebs and folks in Cali...but like Jada's hair...i jessst don't know I'm still wondering how much is her's. Either way it's pretty.

:lachen::lachen:I know the feeling on this one. Heck I shole got told when I THOUGHT Eryka Badu and Lauren Hill's hair was REAL!!!:eek::nono:

i tend to assume its weave. I live in NYC and like 95% of the black women here wear weave. I used to give them the benefit of the doubt but ive been dissapointed so many times:nono:
