I have been struggling with a disabling chronic illness for 7 months now. I have so many people praying for my healing. There have been times when I was in so much pain and discomfort that I wanted to take my own life.At times I have begged and pleaded with God to give me some relief from this horrific illness but I got nothing. Im not angry with God and I spend time with Him on a daily basis because I want to and have a desire to get to know Him. I just dont think He cares about what Im going through. It makes me sad when I am at a low point in my day and I plead with God to help me and He doesnt. I could go on but Im starting to get tearful. Just wondered if anyone has ever experienced silence from God.

:bighug: I'm so sorry that you feel pain and sickness in your body. I totally understand what you are going through, but know this: God is not quietly standing by, just watching you suffer...He is with you...as close as your very breath!!!

Jesus healed a woman with an issue of blood in the Bible, why won't He heal me?

In Luke's gospel we read one account of the woman with an issue of blood. Luke 8:43-48 says, "And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. 'Who touched me?' Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, 'Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.' But Jesus said, 'Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.' Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, 'Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.'"

Due to the greatness of the crowd, it took determination and desperation for this woman to press through the mass of people to just simply touch Jesus. He wanted the woman and the crowd to know that His garments had not caused her to be healed, but the strength of her faith.

Over and over again we read that faith was the key, as in this situation, that led to healing. When He healed two blind men. He said, "According to your faith will it be done to you" (Matthew 9:29). Acts 3:16 says, "By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see." In Mark 2:5 we read, "When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.'" And later in verse 11: "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."

It, of course, makes sense then that in the absence of faith, healing may not take place. In Mark 6:5-6 it says that few were healed and Jesus "was amazed at their lack of faith." And again in Luke 9:41, Jesus says, "O unbelieving and perverse generation" when asked why His disciples could not heal a young boy.

But Scripture reports that healings did not take place in a variety of other situations. Paul, a tremendous man of faith and a mighty minister in the early church said about his own infirmity in 2 Corinthians 12:7-9: "To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'"

Not all are healed in the body because infirmities can teach us valuable lessons about our faith. Psalm 119:71 says, "It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees. " And in Romans 5:3, "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance."

The lessons about healing may direct our focus. When Jesus was told that His friend Lazarus was sick, he remained where he was for two more days, saying, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory. . ." (John 11:4). When Jesus arrived at the location, Lazarus was dead. Instead of healing Lazarus, Jesus raised Him from death. We may miss Jesus' very important message if we are focused only on being healed from our disease and not on the Savior who heals. Often when Jesus healed in the gospels, He told the person that was healed not to tell anyone about being healed. He did not want people to focus on His ability to work miracles but on the glory of God.

Finally, not all may be healed because it is God's ultimate decision to heal or not to heal. We know that God is compassionate and merciful and that nothing is impossible for Him. He has authority over all disease and sickness and can choose to heal whomever He chooses, whenever He chooses. We don't always know all of the answers as to why. We do know though that His ways are higher than ours. Furthermore, we know that He promises in Revelation 21:4: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Heavenly Father,

I come before you right now, on behalf of my sister, Justonian, and I ask that you will comfort her and give her your peace. I pray that the afflictions in her body be removed, that her body be healed, by the power of your blood and by the name, that is above every name, Jesus and for the glory of God!

I pray that you will close the door of sickness in her life, and help her to have the faith to see those things which be not, as though they were. Give her the strength and the ability to fight the good fight of faith, and help her to stand...and having done all to stand...STAND and clothe herself with the breastplate of righteouness and the weapons of this warfare, which is not carnal, but mighty through YOU to the pulling down of the strongholds of sickness and disease.

I thank you for her renewed strength in you and that she will keep her focus, on what you will have for her to do in your Kingdom.

I bless you and praise you for the testimony that will come from this, in the Name of Jesus!

Amen!

I feel ya OP. I have a few chronic illnesses. Sometimes, I want to give up and crawl under my bed and wait for death. Sometimes, I'll skip taking my meds to bring me closer to death. However, it doesn't do anything.

"By his stripes we are headed" according to Isaiah 53:5. Jesus above all, knows the agony that we're going through.

God knows how we feel. I admit how I'm feeling about the situation a lot. Do this, let him know how you feel.

We have these chronic illnesses for a reason beyond our own understanding. Use it for the glory of God. Share your experiences and how you are still able to have joy inspite of the pain.

2 Cor 12:9 "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

Remember, one day soon and very soon, we won't have this corruptable body anymore. It's only temporary.

Be strong my sister in Christ and I will definitely keep you in my prayers.

I hear you, OP, and have felt the same way about my health situation. (10 years and no healing.) The truth is He does hear us. Listen to the ladies above.

God's plan for each of us, whatever it may be, is way beyond our own understanding and logic. He may choose to heal us instantly or in His own time. Or He may choose not to heal us because having this condition is part of His plan, or will keep us humble, or will keep us close to Him, and/or will bring Him glory. Or it could be anything.

I recently came across the book "Where Is God When It Hurts" by Philip Yancey and highly recommend you purchase it. It gave me a level of peace about my situation.

There is more than enough evidence in the bible that Jesus HEALED THEM ALL! ALL! ALL! He didn't run around cherry picking who got healing and who didn't.

I sent you a PM and I'm praying for you.
