Do you earn more than your husband?

If you are a Christian, I'm interested in how you and your husband have dealt with this. I think it can be difficult for some Christian men, because they see themselves as providers and they may feel their role as the leader may be diminished in this circumstance.

Yes I do and always have. When we first got married he was on disablity. Now he is still on disablity but also he is in school full time and he works part-time I am still the main bread winner especially with 12 daily pro helping out. I pay more then my share of the bill.

However, let me say that my dh is still the head of my household and because I respect him as head of the house and don't always bring up that I make the money so I make the decison it works out just fine. He still make the final decison on many things I have my say but he has the final word on important things. Like right now I am saying let's try to purchase a townhouse and he is saying no lets get a detached house, I will follow his lead because who knows he may be hearing something from the Father that I don't know about.

Thanks for sharing LadyR. I'm happy that its worked for you. I earn more than my boyfriend, and since we are discussing marriage, I was concerned that it might be an issue. He has just started a new career and is finishing his degree part time, whereas I'm more established in my career. He has great earning prospects in his career so I'm not worried, but I don't want to be in a situation where my husband resents my money or my career. I believe in submission and I'd never flaunt it in his face, I just want to know how to handle it properly.

Well in my case we are very unconventional. We don't have a joint bank account and most bill are 50-50, except for 2 which either I pay in full or more than half and after I give him the money for the bill my money is my money and his money is his money. We discuss who will buy food and alot of time I buy because I know what I want.

I say all of that to say the best thing you can do is sit down and talk it out and see what will work for your.

God Bless
