Im hearing many different things from different sources. Every YT video I watch says get regular trim and news articles say getting trims for growth is a myth. I understand that trimming bad ends is essential but does it actually make the hair grow? What do you all think? Is it really helping any of you?

Here a link saying it doesnt help growth.

I agree it does not make your hair grow but it helps you to retain length which add to your growth. Healthy ends reduce tangles at the ends and less tangles equals more retention and longer hair IMO. In essence it does help aid in hair growth.

Trimming helps retain the length you have. Cutting the ends of your hair has nothing to do with the hair that grows out of your scalp. The only thing it will do is keep your ends nice and splits from traveling up. Had to learn the hard way several times that I need regular trims to retain.

There is so much bad information out there when It comes to cutting hair for length. Some people swear by it but the record shows that it only helps retain and keep hair healthy.

One of the things that will help you so much is not to listen to any blogs or recommendations without any adequate science behind it. So much of the advice is speculation from ppl saying shampoo is bad for your hair or cones shouldn't ever be used.

@LexiDior, back in the day, older people in my community trimmed by the farmer's almanac for growth. I was too young to appreciate its effectiveness or lack thereof.
