Do natural 4b/c ladies have single strand knots issues?

This is EXACTLY the type of hair I was referring to. Truthfully, I would change texture any day if I it meant I could keep more length. I thought about it and I have been at this hair thing for three years now. I haven't had overly dramatic set backs so I feel like my hair should be longer. I love sera's hair from youtube AND the first thing I noticed when she did more close up shots of her hair was the absence of single strand knots. I don't feel like I will get to her hairlength (MBL goal) if I can't rid myself of the knot problem.

You mentioned Sera on YouTube ... the reason she doesn't have a lot of SSK is b/c of her routine-not her texture. She keeps her hair stretched & sectioned throughout her entire washing/styling process and does not allow her waistlength 4B hair to shrink up completely EVER, in order to avoid the knots.

Actually I believe 4Bs that do Wash n Go's suffer from knots more than others, especially if the hair is densely packed b/c the strands intertwine and loop onto themselves causing the single strand knots and the shed hair gets caught into the afro cloud with no where to go.

I just wrote about my horrific experience w/ knots after doing Wash n Go's for 2 weeks straight here in this thread:http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?p=10717216#post10717216

i get SSN. i wont say all the time but i get them enough. && there really not a problem for me i don't care about them. they might break off if i brush my hair, but i don't use brushes on dry hair. i detangle my hair with my fingers in the shower. my hairs natural. SL. they just don't bother me. are SSN unhealthy ? because i never get spit ends or anything. are SSN a sign of something bad ?

I dont think they're unhealthy, just ANNOYING. When Im styling my hair, if I have knots on some of my strands and accidentally rip them out, then that strand could possibly get a split, then the ends get all ragedy looking and rough feeling.

As my hair got longer the more of these ssks I found. I was very anti heat because of my fine strands. But I feel that I must use some heat on my hair because the twisting and air drying caused me more ssks in the end and hampered my progress.

Best,
Almond Eyes

It's crazy how much SSKs I get lately! I picked my hair out after applying a generous amount of Care Free Curl in my hair and the ball of hair I got was probably the size of a golf ball and I saw at least 5 SSKs. I wear an afro puff for two days and this is what I get :nono:
