Do-It-Yourself Big Chopper Needs Advice

Hi Ladies I'm Shiloh.
I've been lurking since last December and I finally joined. Yay! This is such a helpful site. So I'm about to BC in a few days. Not so much of a big chop because I transitioned for about 11 months. I decided to do it myself because I don't trust anyone else with my newgrowth. I need advice on a method to chop. Specifically the back. I plan to wear my hair straight sometimes, so I'd like it to be somewhat even. Any advice would be helpful. I'm sure someone may have posted a similar thread. So any links to other sites would also be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Hmmm I'm eager to hear some advice too. When I BC, I will most definitely do it myself. I feel you on wanting it to be even because you may wear it straight...

When you decide to do you BC, wet it and put conditioner in it so you can see where your natural hair stops and the relaxer starts. Your relaxed hair will be straight and then you just have to cut off your straight ends. Once you know what you are working with you can decide if you want to get it evened up or cut into a style. I did my own BC and I 've cut my hair a few times since then. Since I wear it in wash n goes you cant tell if it is cut well or not. When I decided I wanted to flat iron every now and then I had someone cut it for me so it would look nice and have a nice shape to it. :)

Thanks Enchantmt I think that's what I'll do. Cut it wet and after a few months get a trim to even it up. I'm going to do it this week I just wanted a little advice before I cut. When I was relaxed I was very specific as to how my hair was cut and I only let hair cutting specialist even give me a trim. But I guess you can't get very technical about a BC. Thanks again for the advice.
