Okay, being the PJ that I am, I need to know if I should buy another brand of castor oil. I ordered mine from www.thesage.com and it doesn't stink so I'm wondering if it's what works. *biting nails* Anyone?? I've got the home health saved in my shopping cart, in my favorites....need I press the button????

Hi Leshia:

Don't think about it too much! I am no expert, so I honestly don't know if what you have is good or not. The only thing I do know is that I've been told that the one I have is 100% castor oil. It is sort of like a light brownish/dark yellowish color. Believe me, I don't think the smell is really bad. It's just strong, not bad. Well, that's just my opinion. If I had to compare the smell to something, I would say that it sort of has a nutty smell.

It's kind of thick and a little sticky (just a little).

If you really feel the need to buy another one, I would suggest that you go to either a haitian, dominican, or like someone else mentioned yesterday, you can even find it in a puerto rican store.

When I went online to do some research on it, I saw the one from home health, and the color is almost like the one I have. Another site also mentioned that some castor oil are colorless, but I do believe that it should have that nutty scent or I wouldn't trust it.

I don't trust any oil that doesn't have a scent. Don't you notice that all the other 100% natural oils have a scent? Rosemary, peppermint, coconut, etc. They all have a distinct smell. Although jojoba has a light scent, it still has a scent.

Good luck! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Leshia,,,,see how your hair and scalp responds to it first.....If you are not happy, switch to the Home Health brand.

Thanks Marabou and Sherrylove. *waving* Mine has an odor but nothing AWFUL, but I have drowned it with peppermint and rosemary oil. I did order the home health for when I run out but I do plan on using this one until it's gone. It's very thick and a tad sticky so I'll keep this one around. Looking forward to trying the home health though! /images/graemlins/smile.gif
