Do I have to use the Mizani neutralizer with the Mizani relaxer?

I have been self relaxing for a while and just decided to switch relaxers today but before I do the relaxer do I have to use the neutralizer shampoo? Or can I use the neutralizing shampoo that I already have on hand?
