I really HATE using shampoo! I dries out my hair really bad! I and leaves it in a big puff even after I deep condition. I'm still new to this whole thing of taking care of my hair thing..so there might be better shampoo products out there...

But I was thinking maybe I could stop shampooing and only deep condition, and do hot hot oil treatments instead..would this be a bad thing?
I would think that my hair can get clean from the two???

I dont know..this is just a thought..or maybe washing only once a month would be better for me... I think I'm going to give that a try!

How often do u wash? anyone who dont wash so often?

I wash once a week with a moisturizing shampoo.

I think there are other alternatives to shampooing you can consider though. I've had read posts from people who have cut shampooing out their regimen. Try doing a search.

i was pooing 1x per wk. then for winter switched to 1x per month. other wise i do co washes... and that will soon cut down too as i'm finna change up my reggie

I stoped using shampoo 4 months ago. My hair didn't like shampoo either.
Thanks to LHCF and LHC I learned about baking soda/Kosher salt shampoo.

IT is amazing! It cleans my hair completly and makes it soft and, silky. I do a apple cider vinegar rinse, and green tea rinse, afterwards. Then I use my conditioners. My hair is shiny and moisturized now, I only have to use two products!

Also you can use the baking soda as a dry shampoo, when you just sprinkle a bit on your scalp, and basically do what you would do with regular shampoo and rinse it out afterwards.

As soon as i found LHCF i stoped shampoo my hair. I just Co-wash, I really don't remember the last time i used shampoo on my hair.

I shampoo once per week.

What kind of shampoo are you using? Your particular shampoo might be too stripping.

Try an organic, sulfate-free, paraben-free, formaldehyde-free shampoo. Any shampoo that lathers up probably has some harsh chemicals. The lather is unnecessary and they add chemicals to create it so people *think* their hair is somehow being cleansed well.

These are the two I use the most. My hair stays moist, shiny, and gets really clean. I dont use them more than once per week or every two weeks.
You CAN just use conditioner, but I recommend adding some baking soda and/or rinsing your hair with Apple Cider Vinegar and water, as it is also very cleansing.

You can also try natural shampoo bars liket he ones from Chagrin Valley

YEs regular baking soda in the orange box lol. No it is apple cider vinegar, you can find in with the rest of the vinegars in your local store. Also if you put salt in your baking soda shampoo, make sure it is Kosher, Only Kosher salt should be used.

The amount of baking soda to water is up to you. I use two cups of water to every half a cup of bakig soda and Kosher salt. Some people use two cups of water to one cup of baking soda
