So I feel like most if not all of the black women I see on the street use weave or full set of braids. Are cornrows no longer in fashion or is it something we leave to little girls now?

I'm thinking about doing cornrows with extensions but now I'm concerned it's out of fashion.

Thoughts?

Girl cornrows aint never left! I love the newer styles Ive been seeing lately as well. My hair is cornrowed right now  I wont spam your thread with millions of pictures but google goodess braids.

They are still in style. Seems like the bigger ones that are really long are now what's worn more.

Not unless they're under a wig or a weave. I haven't had Cornrows since I was getting tracks laid many, many years ago.

I want the really skinny really long ones like Alicia Keys used to wear I also think Beyonce and ciara had them once too. Recently though I saw them on shaun Robinson I really want some

Definitely not out of style! (At least in my opinion) this is me Mother's Day, getting some cornrows put in next weekend.
They're quick to put in/take out and a great protective style once they're not tight.

I haven't worn them in a couple of years but I used to wear them all the time. Well into my 30's.

I was just wondering about this OP. I think it depends on whether the person can pull it off. Maybe if all the rows don't go straight back it'll soften it a bit. But I vote yes.

I have them on right now, my sister did them for me with my own hair. I'm taking them out tomorrow morning for my wash day. They are a good way to get your hands out of your hair for a week.

Now, that's immaculate.....Do you do that yourself or does someone do that for you?

I still wear them. Had some in this week and will continue to braid up my hair for the rest of summer

Do you guys that wear them work in corporate America?

Yup! I sure do!! I'm a Network Operations Manager and this is today's cornrow style.....already a week old!! I plan on keeping it for at least an entire month.

I love cornrows. They're easy to self-install and my transitioning hair gets a well needed break from time to time.

And my hair LOVES water, so with cornrows, I get to wet them down every single morning in the shower. I spritz with my S-Curl + oils mixture, and tie with a silk scarf. I get smooth-looking braids every time.

I think cornrows are back in style. I work in finance and I would wear them but would be a bit selective abt the type I would wear. Also, the ppl I work with aren't as formal and uptight as others can be. Ex, I have a natural coworker who wears a wig every.single.day bc her boss simply wouldn't like the look of natural hair. Point blank. I am thinking of getting some cornrows prob in the fall when I get tired of doing my hair. I will look into different styles I like.

Yes! I still wear them sometimes when I'm going on a trip. Then I'll wear them a couple more weeks to the office before I take them out.

I was just thinking about this style and how I wish I could just wear them straight back for a year, but I really think my forehead is too big for it. I agree its a great protective style and it looks great on all the ppl I've seen wearing them. Ciara looks adorable when she does them.

I still wear them. I usually do something like the front third in straight cornrows towards the crown and put the tails and the remaining two thirds in a bun. Or i'll do goddess braids or two cornrows to my ear on each side of a side part and put the rest of my hair in a bun. Or i'll do something like the style in the vid but replace the flat twist with a loose cornrow.

You should try it. Maybe on vacation, if you don't like it you can take them out before returning to work. I was really afraid of getting cornrows (I was afraid my head shape would look funny) but it worked.
