DIY Wig - How to get Bobraz Straight?

I had a major set back and decided to wig it, but I'm in love with Bohyme Brazilian Wave (Bobraz) and wanted a wig with the same texture. Well I couldn't find one that suited my needs so after being inspired my husband who is a true DIYer I decided to try to make a wig. I sew - so I figured it wouldn't turn out too bad. I did tons of research on YouTube. The hardest part was the "layered cut" (side eye - I did my best). Also, I can't get it straight enough. I don't mind the volume most days, but sometimes I want it to be straight. When I had the Bobraz sew-in the stylist was able to get it perfect. So, it's definitely "user" error. I've tried the ORGANIX Brazilian Keratin Therapy Flat Iron Spray with several passes through the flat iron. Is it my iron? Any other ideas ladies?

Maybe you can just go to the stylist and ask them to give you a layered cut. I think its kinda hard for anyone to cut their own hair.
