Disappointing stretch results/stylist whacked off my hair

Awwww man...Jamilla, I'm sorry she jacked you like that. I don't know the answer to your question. But here's a hug ((( ))). Oh....uhmm you still gotta workout girl![/quote]

LOL, I know! :lachen:Less than a week left until I can look pinkalicious. The challenge has been awesome! I think the extra vitamins from the fruits/veggies have been helping my ng as well.

This is awful. Don't let your stylist trim your hair. Let her handle the chemicals, you handle the scissors.

Honey i am so sorry this happened to you. I could only imagine how you must feel. I am still feeling the effects of what my stylist did to my hair when she cut my hair into layers. To me the right side is thinner then the left. Everytime I style my hair I see it and just want to punch her in the face. From that point on, I said to myself that I will trim my own hair. Just like Keisha stated above, I don't care if it comes out lopsided, At least it is not all hacked off.
:lachen:LOL! That's exactly how I was feeling yesterday! So much so that I'm going on a personal HYH challenge. Everytime I look at my hair I get mad! :wallbash: So I'm going to keep it up so I don't have to look at it for a while.

But like others have said, my hair is ALL healthy, all the jagged ends are gone. So I'm going to have to really baby it and keep it moist.

Ya know, I started doing my own relaxers back in August (best decision ever). I think when I get a trim/cut (no way I take scissors to my own hair), I'm going to a white girl. They are seriously scared to cut too much of your hair off. I went to one for a BC and had to tell her five times to take more off!

Im so sorry, but i'm sure ur hair is still gorgeous. I feel ur pain. This is EXACTLY what happend to me! and i wrote about it in one of the 'major set-back' threads. when u go for a trim and they ask you about layers, SAY NO! a Trim is a trim and layers is a STYLE. they get confused and go into creative mode cuz you said yes to a 'style' cut and they forget everything you said and get carried away. where are those "just say no to stylists" buttons i heard someone talking about :wallbash:

We are >>>right here<<<. :yep: I think that is exactly what happened. :nono:

gosh I just wrote about a stylist trying to do this to me the other day! The ladies on here have convinced me to do it myself, and slowly but surely I will start doing EVERYTHING myself. I'm going to start practicing applying a relaxer with conditioner first, and the next time I need a relaxer I'm going to do it. I just really believe that I cannot get consistent growth and reach my hair goals with a stylist going against my wishes and chopping off every inch of progress, trying to force me to get layers and "trim" to make my hair even! I know how you feel, I just was burning up about this last week! UGH these stylists!!!!!!!!

Awww! :bighug: How much did you lose? :whyme:

I am so sorry this happened to you. The next time you stretch just let the stylist relax it and when you get home DUST it yourself. Trust me you will love the outcome. I know you are very upset now, but when your hair start growing back ( very soon) them layers will look beautiful.

I just got my TU from my stylist a couple of weeks ago, expressed to her my plan to grow my hair to at least APL, and then told her she could cut a millimeter. I haven't worn my hair straight since because I'm afraid that if I see what I suspect, that my hair is shorter than before my 13 week stretch, Imma catch a case. I love how she cares for my hair, but this one thing has me seriously considering ending our 20+ year relationship. I don't see myself being a self-texlaxer and I am afraid to trust any other stylist with this. So to make a long story short, I feel ya, girl!

Gosh so sorry to hear of your experience. I would have been upset as well. But hopefully this won't be a complete setback in you reaching your goals. But I do feel you on this. So a Mega hug for you! :bighug:

Oh wow. I'm sorry that happened! :nono:

I had a stylist do that. You really have to watch them as they cut. I do my own trims and go to stylist when I want a real cut. If it's any consolation I've also found Dominican salons really good for trims because they are so obsessed with long hair they want to keep as much as possible.

I would not cut my hair with new growth. I've done it and I ended up having to cut it again to even it out. The curls varying in curliness can have you cutting your hair at different lengths. Once it's straightened out you'll notice the differences.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your kind words. :yep: I know this long hair journey will have its ups and downs so I'll keep my chin up and learn from this experience. :look: Thanks again!
