Okay... So 4 weeks ago I started steaming for 20-30 minutes weekly with a table top steamer. I apply a mixture of amla oil, coconut oil, EVOO, and neem. On top of that, I put either Kera Care Humecto or QH Cholesterol. Then I use the Roux porostiy control shampoo, apply either mendex or Aphogee 2 min. reconstructor, co-wash to rinse that out with HEHH and then do a final rinse with the Roux conditioner.

My hair used to be so dry it snapped off in my hands and I couldn't even comb (not even with my fingers) through it at 3 weeks post because my new growth would be hard as a rock. Now...my hair has body, and is so well moisturized that I need to do very little to add moisture during the week. I am almost 4.5 weeks post and I can barely tell that I have any new growth at all! Has any one else had their new growth so well tamed just from steaming?? Myhair is also quite a bit darker. I don't know what is causing that.

Steaming is where it's at girl!! I've been using the hot towel method and the difference in my hair has been night and day! I guess it's the hot steam fusing the moisture into the shaft of the hair.....I don't understand it, but I can't live without it now!

I have noticed that my color seems to be more defined. Yesterday I stepped out and forgot to add oil to my hair. When I remembered, I checked and it still had a nice sheen of its own (hard to do for curls). All from regular steaming.

I don't have a steamer, so can you elaborate on the hot towel method please. I was going to try to steam "baggy style" Yes I'm making this up. LOL! I plan to apply dc and then spritz the inside of the my baggy with my distilled water and coconut oil concoction and see what it do. Then of course sit under the hot hair dryer for 20 minutes.

There are lots of directions in the steamer challenge for 2010 thread. Come on over and join in.

Thanks, I'll tiptoe over there!

I figured out during my transistion how important it was and purchased a steamer. It just seems it helps with the condition of my hair.

Glad you're having good results. My hair has got quite a lot darker over the past year too. I'm not sure if it is the steamer - whatever it is I am loving it!

Continued use of Amla definitely causes the hair to get darker. The steamer, who knows?...but it, along with the oils, seems to be working wonders with the body and moisture of your hair, so keep doing it. :yep:

I can't wait to get my steamer. I hope this can get rid of gray hairs and prevent them from coming out!

Steaming is the BUSINESS people for real, :D Ladyfay, mine didn't go away :(

I love steaming; :D If I am not steaming I am dreaming of steaming.

Thanks IDARE!

Hair may appear darker because it is more moisturized. :) I love steaming, right now I'm doing the bootleg version with my clothes steamer but I need to get one!
