I was thinking about when I was relaxed years ago and how I'd let a week or two go before I'd wash my hair. Seems like back then my hair was pretty healthy (other than relaxing issues): it had sheen, it grew really quickly, etc. etc.
When I first went natural I didn't wash very often until folks started turning me onto different products. My hair seemed a lot healthier. I started conditioner washing (didn't have a name for it) leaving a bit of conditioner in and letting my hair air dry.
I'm thinking about stretching my wash and having 'dirty' hair for a bit and see how that goes. I just finished up some two strand twists after deep conditioning. I have glycerin moisturizer on with a shea mix on top. That's it. I think I'm gonna try to keep these twists in OR if I take them out do so without washing or conditioner washing. I'm gonna spritz every other day as needed. When I retwist I'll use the same shea mix.
I don't sweat much and i don't work out so i don't think a smelly scalp will be an issue. The shea butter has a scent: whipped shea in cedar fig from oyin's. I LOVE IT. 75% shea and the other 25% is all good stuff like black seed oil, etc. I just got it but I might as well reorder.
I just wanna simplify stuff. Does anyone else stretch their wash or cowash days?
