Dilute Relaxer

I have a question, my hair is growing like wild fire, and my front is just so knoty, that I know I can't make it 6 more weeks until a touch up. When I originally relaxed, I saved my edges for last and to be honest, I don't think I really relaxed them at all. I have a 'fro in the front when I wear my hair back in protective styles. This is a great problem because my hairline was really thin when I first took my braids out, it is filling in quite nicely.

I am thinking of taking some of my mild relaxer, mixing a some olive oil in it and just doing a spot touch up to help lay my edges down a bit, I mean they are really puffy, I've tried the scarf method, etc. they still puff up during the day! LOL

Has any one ever diluted their relaxer to get make it milder? I'll be working with a Silk Elements Mild...

Thank you! Janet

I mix my silk elements lye relaxer with olive oil. This works well for me.

With what you are suggesting I would just be sure not to overlap onto any prerelaxed hair.

:)

Re: Can You Dilute Relaxer??

 bummping for advice.... I promise not to overlap, I might just wait, but this might be a good idea in general for the hair that is softer at my hairline and my nape, that hair is like a 3b vs my 4a on the majority of my nogin.
