Very interesting. Although I was curious about AFAM hair needing a moisture level of 15% or above. Is this common knowledge and just something I don't know?

I'm not even sure how you would measure such a thing. I 've heard before that hair is 85% protein so maybe that is where she got the moisture thing from. Since strands are made up of protein and a moisture balance.

maybe sistaclick can chime in.

So this moisture thing, is no joke! I have really been concentrating on this in my regimen--can't say I've been all that consistent, but I do notice a difference when I pay attention to the moisture. Do you agree w/ the hot oil treatments suggested and does our hair really need oils?

My, my, my! I'm reading the article which is right on time because I just read something similar the other day. The article I read (actually it was a clinical report, I think) wasn't just for AA hair it was referring to all hair. Anyhoo, I did a search on the products this writer is in-directly advertising and Beauty 4 Ashes is a christian based hair care, weight loss, etc. etc product manufacturer. The specific poo/con/lotion mentioned in the article are like Aveda prices. :ohwell:

A 16oz bottle of shampoo (that only has a shelve life of 30 days) ranges from $29.99 to $34.99. That's alot of skrilla for a sista who only gets 16oz! For that price, I will just add the necessary oils listed as the ingredients into my Aveda SI, now that's more like it! :look:
