Does anyone use products that their Dermatologist recommends to them or anything that is by prescription only? How about products that are over the counter but recommended by your dermatologist or another well-respected derm?

Dermatologist Dr. Susan C. Taylor recommended Dermasmooth FS oil in this article: http://www.societyhilldermatology.com/feat_dryHair.htm

Yes. I use the DermaSmoothe :-) So funny. I had a question about it when i was first prescribed and until recently i've been seeing all these threads pop up about it now :-)

I'll have to look up that oil. She's an expert with black skin in hair I believe.

Mines prescribed a 2% Ketoconazole shampoo. It removes dht from the scalp of hormonally caused hair loss. It's a must for me since I want my hair on my head.

nice! i wonder if it would work for me even though i dont have hormonal scalp issues

I use nizoral shampoo its prescription also and I think it has ketoconazole as an ingredient. I use it to control my psoriasis along with a topical lotion but I forgot the name of it. Im looking into other forms of treatment though.
