Ok. So I was wondering what this was best used for. I'm transitioning at the moment. Is this good for transitioning hair or no?

i'd like to know also. im relaxed but i'll be stretching my relaxers 12 weeks or more from now on.

I am currently transitioning, I am almost one year post relaxer. I use a denman brush (D4) at least every other day. I detangle first with a wide tooth comb and follow with my denman. I have friends who are relaxed and natural that also use the denman brush (D3 and D4). But I have also heard people claim that it pulls their hair out. I wouldn't suggest using this brush if you have very fragile hair. If you want to modify the brush you can, by removing every other row of teeth/bristles. HTH

My denman made transitioning so much easier!
I have the D31, it's widely spaced. I haven't even used my wide thoothed comb since I got it.
I could go on about how much I love it, but truth is it doesn't work for everybody, so I suggest you give it a try and find out if it works for you.

I have a d3, I am also transitioning and even though I have removed some of the columns, it still rips my hair out. Even if I am trying to detangle with condidtioner. But I think it's the relaxed hair that is the problem. So I am going to keep it and try it out again once I am fully natural.

I'm transitioning and I use my Ouidad comb first then follow up with the deman. It gets all my she hairs and helps a lot....a lot with the detangling process!!

natural, or relaxed, and not with no 3+ inches of newgrowth either. i tried using that brush when i was transitioning, and i just knew all my hair was gonna come off. i couldn't do it. it works wonders on my hair as a natural though. ♥

I use a D4, and I'm relaxed. You can't be heavy handed with this brush.

I've used it on wet and dry hair without issue.

So it sounds like this brush is great... if you have one texture of hair...but naturals probably like it the best. Is this correct?

i live with two other girls that are natural. the denman brush works wonderfully on their hair but when i attempt to use it on my relaxed/texlaxed hair it's a big nono

I use my Ouidad comb first then follow with my modified D4. I don't use the brush that often. I think its going to be fantastic when i'm fully natural because it glides through my 6" roots but has a hard time on the relaxed ends.

I personally wouldn't wait to buy it, if you're going to buy it in the end anyway.
As I said, it might not work, but if it does, you'll be so happy you got it sooner than later.

I've hardly used it since BCing, but I'm still in love with that brush.

In my experience, the Denman is good for all three. I used this to blowdry my hair when I was still getting relaxers, and when stretching them to get the roots straight even before flat ironing. I'm still use it now that I am growing out the relaxer and will probably use it when I am fully natural.
