Denman Brush Changes Your Texture

I got my hair cut in July of 2009 and I got my Denmen from kinky curly's website. When I first used it, I hated it. I was like,"my hair is already short, I dont need more hair in the brush". I just used it again for the first time in 9 months, since I have some length..I used the tightly curly method of just conditioner, and I defined each curl with the conditioner in my hair and I have to say that this brush is my best friend...I dont use it to detangle I use it to define..and define it does...I realize I no longer need styling gel in my hair...this brush is like the ocean...beautiful but deadly if you dont know how to swim, lol...either you love it, or you hate it....I finally learned how to use it, and IMO, I do think you must have a little length in your hair in order for it to work properly and by all means, NEVER EVER use it on dry hair...Always have wet hair with conditioner or some kind of product in your hair...I wish you all well..

Ok, I'm only gonna speak for myself here. With the denman my hair forms perfect tight corkscrew curls like a comb coil almost. W/O it most of my hair forms s-waves, no spiral at all. The curls are elongated and flat like a flat S shape...picture a snake slithering on the ground. I'm thinking the brush makes it spring up into a spiral coil shape. And of course the texture change I speak of is not a permanent one.....maybe this is where some of the confusion is coming in?

Pokahontas :yep:yup this is exactly how it is with my hair denman makes my hair spring and bunch up

I love my Denman. I get thick new growth and it goes through it smoothly without breakage. I am relaxed, so I do not know if it is different for different textures. I was natural for a year and it was the first brush I used for my 4b hair. It feels great on my scalp when styling. I do not use it everyday, but it is my fav brush!:)

My experience is very similar to Pokahontas with the notable exception being my curls are like ringlets with finger combing and coils with the Denman. This brush was fine on my transitioning hair, but I do not use it on my natural hair!
