Deep Conditioners that do not require heat...

I am looking for a deep conditioner that does not require heat. Please post your favorite deep conditioners that do not require heat. Please let me know whether it is a moistiurizing or protein conditioner and how long it is supposed to be left on. And if isn't too much trouble, I would like to know what the ingredients are.

I use Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisturizing Conditioner as a deep conditioner. After washing, I apply the conditioner. I place a plastic cap on my head for 30 minutes. Sometimes, I do apply heat.

I couldn't find the ingredients on the web. But, after I have shampooed my hair, I add this, put a plastic cap on my head and sit for 30 minutes. I have conditioned washed with this product. I let it sit over night. My hair was very soft.

The humectress doesn't say anything about heat. As for the Elasta QP I am not sure whether it does or not. For me, normally when a deep conditioner cause for heat, I just double the time I leave it in without the heat. That's my method. I don't like the heat!

Lekair Cholesterol. I don't remember exactly what the jar says about heat. But when I first started using it, I did not use any heat with it.

Any deep conditioner can be used without heat!

It doesn't matter what is said on the bottle.

Your body heat will help it penetrate anyway. Plastic caps are really all you need. I use heat only 2x per month for protein treatments.

Cosigning.

If I am lazy, I heat it in the microwave for a little bit. Test the temp on the inside of my arm and apply. Put on a plastic cap and a towel.

I don't wash my own hair. I get my hair done at the salon but I bring my own products. I pay about $20 a week to get my hair done because I don't use their dryers. I would like to keep it that way. However, I would like to follow the manufacturer's directions for best results and also because......I don't want them to catch on to my ploy!!! Actually, I think they know already but I wouldn't want them to change the policy on account of me getting over every week! I would like to be able to point to the bottle and say, "See, no heat!"

Let me clarify. If you use their hooded dryers, they charge $5 even if you brought your own treatment. Every week they try to get me to do a deep condition. I figured what I would do is bring my own deep conditioner that doesn't require a hooded dryer.......

My hair is rollerset in both of those pictures. Once upon a time, I was able to get slamming airdried results but I don't remember how. I'm not interested in experimenting anymore so I let it go.

Here is my so-called regimen.

I go to the Dominican salon to get my hair washed once a week. The products vary because I am trying to use up my products. The only thing that has been consistent is that the leave-in is Salerm 21 and that I have to use medicated shampoos.


At the time my hair was cut, I couldn't put my hair in a ponytail or style it so I went to the Dominicans. I have gone almost every week since then.

I get a relaxer every 10-12 weeks. I don't use heat on my hair other than the rollerset. This week I did get my roots blown out but that is becasue it was week 9.

I try to wear my hair in a claw clip but occasionally wear a bun or ponytail. I don't know what else to tell you though because I really don't have a regimen but that's about it.

You can use most any deep conditioner with or without heat, even if heat is recommended on the label.

I use LeKair Cholesterol with no heat and I leave it on w/a plastic cap for about 45 minutes to an hour. I also recently found Breakthru Deep Conditioner and I use that the same way.

However, because so many people bring their own products, they charge you $5 to sit under the hooded dryer even if you did bring your own deep treatment.

If I start sitting under the dryer, then I will be paying more money which I simply cannot afford to do if I want to go weekly. I split the remaining $5 between the lady that washes my hair and the rollerset lady and that brings my total to $20. If I have an extra dollar I give them each $3. That's the best I can do.

daviine... what size rollers do they use in your hair? how many rows do they make in your hair to set it?

I've never noticed how many rows they make. They use mostly the grey rollers and I think about 1-4 purple rollers.

When I was transitioning, I liked KMS Silker Reconstructor and I would just let it dry on my hair with some coconut oil and then wash it out. Really strengthened and worked w/o heat...never had to use another conditioner afterwards either.

Nexxus conditioners do not require heat. The general directions are to leave it on for 3 mins and rinse with lukewarm water. Since it has time-released ingredients, I tend to leave it on for about 5-10 mins, just to be sure I'm getting the full effect. For me, the longer I leave it on, the better my hair feels.

Daviine, I do the same thing. A wash and set at the DS in my area is $15. I also bring my own products so I can use them up. They charge an extra $5 if I want to use my own conditioner and their dryer, so I just sit without heat. There are two things that I do:

1. I will pre-condition my hair with Aubrey's GPB. This is a light protein conditioner and I use it weekly. I will put it on before I leave the house and leave it in until they wash my hair. I felt funny at first walking in there with conditioner in my hair but it works very well.
After, they shampoo and use a moist conditioner for a few mins.

2. I will bring my own moist condioner and let it sit on my hair with no heat for 5-15 mins with shower cap, depending on which one I use.
Emergencee- heavy protein - 10 mins
Humectress -moist- 10 min
NTM DDC or Mask - 10 min
Alter Ego Coconut Conditioning Mask - 10 min
Nioxin Structure and Strength - 5 min

Do you go to a NY salon? Can you tello me which one??

Neither one requires heat....both have been amazing for my hair.

I go to El Grand Dominicano in Brooklyn. I think I am going to try the Nexxus Humectress.....I just have to decide whether or not I am going to purchase before or after I finish up my products. I don't think I have any deep condidtioners. I do have that NTM stuff though.

I also have Kenra MC but I don't consider it a deep conditioner...but I guess it could stay for 5 minutes right? I like to keep that for myself...in case I have to wash my own hair.

When you use a protein conditioner at the salon, do you ask them to use a moisturizing conditioner afterward?

What I have decided to do is use a protein shampoo and then follow with a moisturizing conditioner. I think I've been doing this for a month now. I haven't noticed any adverse effects.
