Do not associate with a man given to anger; Or go with a hot-tempered man,
Proverbs 22;24
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless
Titus 3:9
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.
1 John 3:23
I had a dream and was moved to share it as the Lent thought for today with your permission.
I saw three words in the dream. Love activates Faith.
I thought that was strange ..and that it should be worded the other way around,
but those were the words and in that sequence.
I googled it.
"Notice that faith is activated and energized through love. Many people's faith is dead, inactive. Your faith may be like a dead battery--unable to produce ...
Since love energizes faith, the opposite must also be true.
The opposite of love is hate.Hate drains faith. Hate will sap the strength out of faith. This is what Jesus taught"
I am awe struck that on the cross while the crowd jeered..Jeusus said to Our Father to forgive them they know not what they do..
what a love that must be....to love those who hurt and harm you..and while they are doing it ..to love those who are not easy to love..to ask God to forgive them. Jesus loved us so much He gave His life. Our Lent preparation reminds us.
There are a small cluster of women on the Christian Forum who I cannot name out of respect, who have impacted my life immeasurably and this forum...they can never be found participating in the debate threads...they show up to make declarations of faith and support and love and quietly go on about their Christian lives with out fanfare
I think of these wonderful sisters and I start crying ... they are so powerfully healing ..my heart is so moved...they are strong role models by power of example
I'm looking at anger and love because as I feel God truly healing the hurt parts of me...I find I am distancing from my attraction to anger and its associations ..debate....contentions...dispute.... and am growing closer to the joy Jesus urges us ... so that my Joy may remain
In releasing my own anger...in its dissipating, praying to love above all else...
Like in the crowd at Calvary...sometimes we are so immersed in our own pain,we might find ourselves cultivating anger ...and while I hope to keep working to recognize this,by the grace of God, I can love and pray for those who might seem to be mired there, as Our Savior did from the cross.... as others prayed for me when I was not easy to love
May redeeming agape love enter our hearts and activate the faith that heals and if we need help to put it there..our God can do this and more~

may it begin with with me
