washing chemically treated hair daily w/harsh poos can be very damaging and drying over time.

do you have a condition that you are trying to address? why do you want to (or are thinking about) washing daily?

I was my hair everyday. I do conditioner washes 6 days a week and wash my hair with shampoo onces a week.

My hair is fine. I havent had any problems.

It depends on how your hair responds to daily washes. I tried last year and got a lot of breakage. The most I can do is 2-3 times a week. I will wash my hair if I feel it has a lot of build up or if I am sweating a lot because of exercise.

I am relaxed and wash my hair everyday with a MILD shampoo. I also condition everyday as well. I have been doing this since August '03 and feel that it is the best way to keep my new growth soft and easy to manage. The shampoos that I use are Paul Mitchell Instant Moisture Daily Shampoo, Neutrogena Triple Moisture Shampoo, Nioxin Cleanser & Scalp Therapy, and Jasons Naturals Sea Kelp Shampoo, Redken Smooth Down Shampoo, and Redken Deep Shampoo. Once a week I clarify with Redken Hair Cleansing Cream.

I would say if you do decide to wash daily to make sure you get a shampoo that is made exclusively for daily use and condition everytime you wash.

I'm natural and also tend to wash my hair from 3x a week to every day and clarify once a week. I have never had any problems.
If your want to read about others experiences with daily washing, there was a thread last year called daily washing the secret to long hair or something similar. If I can find it I will bump it for you.

my hair grows the fastest when im washing it everyday but you have to handle it gently cuz ur hair is in its weakest state when wet. make sure you follow up with a leave in conditioner and comb with a wide tooth comb. I wouldnt use the shampoo more than once or twice a week though.

I think hair will grow faster when washed everyday but I am too afraid of the "daily" manipultation with comb outs. Right now I comb my hair 2 times a week, 3 times tops and my hair has never been thicker. Although it might grow faster with daily washings I believe over time it will also grow thinner.

p.s.- Well thinning will happen eventually to all of us anyway with or without daily washings

daily washings are so bomb. i did them in the summer and wooooo! it was great. i was rockin' a 'fro in the time and it keep me cool durring the day . but i did conditoner washes (CO)with a daily conditioner and shampooed once a week with a non sls shampoo(creme of nature aka CON)if the daily washes are to much try rinsing or co washes. you still get the cleaner hair and scalp without the mouisture lost.

Statred in 1/8/05 and don't see an end in sight....ok, I'm lying. Once my hair gets long enough to put in a bun, I'll wash every 3 days instead... my hair loves it :D

I do daily co washes for one week and wear a phony pony the next week alternating this has worked out great for me.

I only do this when I'm working out - can't stand the sweaty head!! 5 days a week CO wash/rinse or wash with Cream of Nature, then at end of week a deep conditioner. The days I exercised and washed my relaxed hair, I wore it wet - either in a curly ponytail (to airdry) or in a french twist secured by a clip. Fast to style in and out the gym:D !
