Curlformers/Transitioning and Pibbs Advice???

Okay I just found out I have a lot of today free - I need to clean my apartment and study for an exam and I just got my PIBBS! :spinning: I am 6 months into my transition and I have curlformers that I would like to try. Do you think that I would be possible for me to use the them even though I have the two very different textures and have it turn out okay? I've got about 4" of NG. I know I've seen both the naturals and relaxed ladies use them successfully but I've haven't seen anyone transitioning use them. Has anyone else been using these to transition or have any advice?

I just tried them on my transitioning hair tuesday. I didn't really like how it turned out, but i think with practice and another pack of curlformers they'll be better next time. I put pics in my fotki. password:LHCF.

I don't know i think your hair looked really cute separated, but your hair is much longer than mine so maybe mine won't turn out as good :perplexed. Do you think it was the foam you didn't like on your NG or just the look in general. I probably would've worn the separated look with a scarf or some accessories but it really looks cute. So maybe there is hope for me?

I didn't like the fact that the setting lotion made my NG stiff. I'm gonna cowash today and try it again sans setting lotion.

I think it's worth a try even if your hair is shorter than mine. Try and see, you might like it.

PinkSkates is also natural and she uses them and loves them. She she says they flatten out the roots very nicely and it takes away the need for a pressing comb:yep: I'm relaxed and I use them too, I love them. Just remember, practice makes perfect. If you don't like how it turns out at first, don't give up- try it again:yep:

Alright ladies I think I'm gonna give it a whirl - I'll post some pics when I'm done. I'm actually getting together pictures of the last 6 months to start a fotki so maybe I'll do that when I take a study break. Wish me luck lord knows I'm no guru!

I'm natural as well and they straigten my hair very nicely. When I learn how to wrap my hair,I'm going to try poka's method with the silk wrap under the dryer.

I also do a ponytail rollerset with these.Maybe you could try that?Good luck girly:grin::reddancer:

Southern Tease (the one who introduced Curlformers to the LHCF) is transitioning. Check out her threads for pictures. She did a wonderful job.
