I've been toying with the idea of going under a full PS for the summer. I wanted something fast so I was gonna do a crochet style. I usually rock them in a short, curly bob type style like this:

It's very Karen-Let Me Talk to Your Manager-esq but when it's hot, I like the hair up off of my neck and shoulders.

BUT, I've been really bothered by the friction I get when I pull the crochet hair under my cornrows, even with the net. And then it dawned on me... I typically wear a headband with my crochets bc I can't seem to get them to look natural enough for me. It's a comfortable style for me bc it's also how I rock my short and curly half wigs anyway. So then I read in my hair journal about the time I had sewn down my short curly wig with a headband and loved the simplicity of it.

I need that kind of hair break right now bc I'm having serious HIH in these mini braids. Lol. Also, I promised DH I'd do more different hairstyles. He's tired of this pattern of rotating cornrows and minis I've been doing for the past few years - wearing a scarf or bandana over them the majority of the time. :look: And I still wanna HYH until my next texlax in Oct so I'm gonna do that.

I've decided that I could also just grab a couple of cheap longer curly synthetic wigs and then cut them into the style that I want after I sew it on. Would be much less stress on my strands and I could keep them on for about 4 weeks or so without washing. Also, I can apply scalp stuff through the wig net. I'll do it sometime next week. I've got a family dinner coming up on Sunday and I don't need the extra stress right now.
