Creep Crawlies on scalp = HAIR GROWTH!

It sounds like an allergic reaction to something. Maybe the growth aides. You cannot feel hair growing. If you could, you will have creepy crawlies ALL over your body everyday.

I don't know (hair scientists, feel free chime in), but your hair grows in miniscule amounts, in different areas, at different times. Maybe when you have the "spurt" phenomenon, all your hair is growing out at a faster than usual rate, and at the same time? Maybe that contributes to being able to "feel" a spurt, vs. not feeling normal growth.

Don't laugh, but it's a theory! :spinning:

Bumping...its happening again ladies lol...I'm about 8wks post and my scalp has that crawling feeling...It's extremely moist/humid outside, due to the rain, and I have been applying my hair growth oil...I guess its due to all of the above...either way I'm not complaining :spinning:

LOL this has happened to me too...even my 6 year old daughter has came and told me she feels something crawling on her head. I never mentioned it to anyone b/c I tought they would look at me like I'm crazy. I haven't paid attention to exactly when this happens but I will now. :yep:

Its so funny i saw this thread because ever since i got pregnant ive been feeling the creepie crawlies/itching lol

Another way you can tell ( I think:perplexed) is, if you just washed your hair aint no way in who haa your hair is suppose to be still itching like crazy unless you didn't rinse the shampoo completely out. Normally if your hair is itching, it could be a sign that you need to wash it:look: but if your hair is itching and it's clean ( I think:look:) it's due to the folicles pushing through:rolleyes: Of course the itching could be due to other factors but I think it's due to the folicles pushing through... Just my opinion...of course:yep:

I TOTALLY AGREE!! Sometimes after I wash my hair AND after making sure that everything is totally rinsed out. I still get the crawlies. At first I thought it was an allergic reaction, but a short time later I'd get a sore scalp and then I see that my hair has grown longer?! So it has to be due to it growing - it has to be!! No way are you crazy!

^^^ITA :yep: my hair has the creepy crawlie feeling the most after I wash.cowash while it air drying :yep: and we are not crazy, too many members are experiencing this ,but I'm not complaining at all:spinning:

My scalp is itchy and sore when I'm experiencing a growth spurt. Spicy food will do it too. I usually just massage my scalp with castor oil until it's not as tender...which usually stimulates more growth. I  this "problem". :yep:

OMG:drunk: I thought I was going bonkers one time...I was at a restaurant with my SO and eat some hot sauce, I happily said "I feel my hair growing" he looked me like I was nutz :lachen: ...I lowered my head and continued eating my spicy food....keeping my "growing hair thing" to myself:look:

Wow I was just telling my friend a couple of days ago about this. I said that in one section of my hair ususally the middle it feels like someone has a string pulling it kind of like a dancing twitch feeling. I always think please don't let anything be in there. I try to find the root of it. I also feel this twitch on my nose too like someone is tickling it with a feather. Hope this doesn't mean it growing too:lachen:.

Happy to hear other people feel it too. Also I do feel a little pain (like someone is pulling) sometimes in the front near my temple, I thought it had something to do with wrapping hair the same way. I need to learn the alternative way. I tried it a few times but don't think I did it right or hair is not long enough. I am shoulder possibly armpit level, but the person who showed it hair looked way longer than mine. Any suggestions?

Good thread!

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

When I am experiencing a growth spurt my hair itches like nobody's business. It happened when I first started taking Biotin, Bee Mine, and Megatek. I used to sit at work and scratch my scalp like crazy!!!!

And its not like scratching your leg...it feels like something is alive in your scalp...like the "creepy crawlies". Not everyone will experience it but just because you don't doesn't mean we are all like that.

My crown itched like crazy when I took Biotin last year. Once I took my sew in out, I had the most growth in that area.

I just had the creepy crawlies feeling in an area of my scalp, but it only lasted for 20 seconds. Is that duration normal?

I get them with my moe gro oil mostly.
Also, when I think strongly about my scalp tingling, it does.
I did a thread on it. Its as if I'm making my scalp tingle/hair grow by meditation

I have been getting the creepy crawlies alot lately. I don't even put anything on my scalp:ohwell: I also get them especially after I workout. What helps me to calm the sensation is just massaging my scalp with the pads of my fingers for a couples of seconds and then the sensation subsides.

Im serious! Every morning when i wake up this happens to me...when I drink water...when I eat something that's spicy...it happens! Now I know I'm not going crazy, but when I tell people,IRL, I feel my hair growing...they look at me like I'm nuts lol...of course I stopped sharing:look:...But I honestly think these tingles are attributed to my daily scalp treatment...anyone else experience this? what do you think is causing the "odd" sensations on your scalp? please share:yep:
ooh I get that feeling when i do tea rinses, it's a really special time for me * folds my hands over my tummy* *grins*:drunk:

All the time, esp. above the ears towards the back of my nape. My hair is very oily in that area and gets oilier after the creepy crawlies. I think it's growth and/or a blood surge to the area.

I thought I was the only one that happens to :perplexed. Those two sections of hair (right above and behind my ears) always grows faster.

I experience it there as well:yep:, hence my is much longer in the back than on the sides/crown:yep:

I've been experiencing this recently and my hair has been growing really quickly. For the people who are saying "you can't feel your hair growing, you can't feel follicles" my response is: human skin is very sensitive, and I think it's the skin we're feeling, the skin that the hair is pushing through.

You are not serious, are you?!?! This thread was created becuase i have experienced this first hand,NOT for marketing...I digress

Riiiiiiight. It's funny how every single person who comes on here trying to sell stuff on the sly says the same thing. But, hey, if the mods didn't catch it, then it doesn't matter.
