^^Oh yeah, I would literally leave the front out and loosely twist the back up with a few bobby pins.

Heck naw! :nono: There's just something about telling me that I CANT do something that makes me want to do it! I'm in the HYH challenge right now and if I had been told that I couldn't wear it loose (braidout/twistout), I would've failed within the first couple of weeks. I haven't even worn it loose very many times but at least I know it is an option whenever I want to.

I have for years in the past...I am now and it's been a few years, never wearing my ends out or down. I may curl it on the 23rd of this month, next week actually! next day gonna get a bun ;)

Considering how sick I get of my hair's maintenance when it's not even at the length I want it, wigs are so much easier. I may break for a day or a week... but that's how I get down right now

I think I could simply cuz I like being able to just get up and not have to worry about fussing with my hair.

I couldn't for the combination of the following three reasons:

1. I never show my ears, period. So buns, braids, etc, etc are out.

And...

2. I cannot constantly wear half wigs because I have hereditarily thinning hair and it cannot handle the stress (even with only bobby pins and the combs taken out)...

And

3. I cannot wear full wigs because my head is too large to fit into the average size.

Now that would be a challenge. I can wear my hair in braids and twist for a year with my eyes close no problem but I've never hid my ends. Hmmm I'm going to try it and see how long I last, after I get my trim in december.

Been there done that before finding LHCF and knowing what PS'ing was. I can't say what length I achieved though because I used to be very scissor happy and as soon as my hair got a few inches beyond shoulder length I would put it in a ponytail and cut it down to a nape length bob. Craziness I know! This year has been my first attempt at seeing how long I can grow my hair without taking more than an inch off every 8 weeks.

I'm always in a bun and rarely even wear ponytails (ends exposed).

And I don't mean braid outs or twist outs. I mean Ends completly tuckted, never see the light of day protective?

I don't think I could, I would most likely last 5 months tops, I would run out of buns. Man I could only imagine how :strong: and :dance7: my hair would be If I could though.

I've been doing this since September. I can tell the difference in my hair and am making plans to do it for two years!

1 year is my plan. Since I BC'd in June, proctective styling is actaully a luxury.

i easily could when i was ashamed of my hair and my naps. not anymore! but i prob still could. just change my wigs every few months

I think that I could. I have my hair out today for the first time in like two months at work and I hate it:nono:. I was good this morning but now I look like a scared chicken PS are my friend.

Yes, I have done this before. Although at the time I didn't know it was protective styling. I was just being lazy about doing my hair.:look:

Yes Yes and Yes! I decided on my birthday to do this which was Nov 21'st! And still going strong. I decided to try the yarn braids and to my surprise don't have a problem with it. I use to keep my hair in braids for yrs and yes it grew beautifully. But of course the ends were a mess. That was pre lhcf. But now I know what to do to keep my hair moisturized and cond. Also, I know some of you ladies may cringe at this but my hair seems to grow best when I only wash it once a month.

But everyone's hair is different. When I was washing and conditioning 2-3 times a week there was little progress so I decided to go back to my once a month routine, and it seems to be working well for me. My goal is to wear the braids for 2 yrs. Of course taking them out every 2 months with a week rest period and then adding them back in for another 2 months and so on. But I do use the braid spray and oil my scalp as well. I do think I better invest in that detangler from the crown and glory method when it's time to take them down though!

And with my busy schedule it's perfect for me. But to ea individual!

a week is hard for let alone whole year. every wash day when i put my hair up, i'm complainin for 5/6 days about how i can't wait to take my hair down lol
