I was told by my stylist that when working out one should not wear a scarf because the friction causes breakage. I have been wearing my hair in a clip but :nono: of course it never looks as good as it did before working out. What do u ladies think of this concept?

I could see what she is saying. I personally fold a silk scarf to make a headband and I use that around my hair perimeter. I think if you are using a silk scarf then you shouldn't have problems. Plus its the way you use it. I can see how using a cotton scarf with a knot tied behind your head while you Kick and punch in tae-bo class could cause issues though

lol That is what I used to do. I would have my hair in a pony and wear a scarf around my hair. But I guess im better off without it because most "satin" scarves are mixed with another type of fabric and can be a little rough. I went to the fabric store around my way a few weeks ago and the "silk" they showed me felt like BSS satin. :nono: So im currently stuck with satin.:ohwell:

Call around to some fabric stores and ask if they carry pure silk. Then you can go get 1/2 a yard of it.

I sometimes wear a silk scarf. If you're wearing protective styles like buns, I sometimes will add moisturizer and seal with oil before workout because my hair dries so much from the sweat.
