Corioliss Flat Iron

I wanted to see if anyone has purchased the Corioliss Flat Iron. I have seen it in the mall several times, but was never curious about it because I have never seen it demonstrated on a woman of color’s hair. Well this past weekend, a young lady with natural hair decided to try it and her hair came out so straight and shiny. I am always skeptical when it comes to expensive products. The sales person stated that the Corioliss is a 100% ceramic and that is why it works so well. She also stated that the Chi iron is not a 100% ceramic and the irons from Sally’s is only 75% ceramic. I am not sure if that is a true statement. If you have purchased the Corioliss, please let me know if you are happy with it because $120.00 is a lot to pay for a flat iron.

Off course they will say anything to up their product and put down others. I've had a Chi for going on 4 years now and never had a problem with it.
I had a converstaion about this flat iron w/another LHCFer a few weeks ago....Corioliss is garbage!!!!! The sales associates at the kisosk couldn't ask any questions I had about temp, guarantees or warranty. I did some research online and noticed many people had problems returning the item for refunds, warranties not being upheld and just bad review about the overall product - there were many issues with faulty electric cords burning and it not working after about a month or so. I'm going to look for the links and I will post.
I think for this price you'd be better off with the Sedu and have a money back guarantee from Folica! Although you can purchase the Corioliss at Folica, too.

LOL!! I was just accosted by the a man trying to sell me a Coriollis iron at the mall today!!! He had me crackinhg up because he swore that I knew nothing about ceramic/tourmaline technology. He looked sort of surprised when I told him the benefits of the Sedu that he had never heard of .

I paid $23.50 for mine, and in the two weeks I've had it it has a short in it ! Of course I can't return it, have already left positive, and haven't even really used it (no special occasion or anything, working third shift now...)!! I just discovered this right before I came to work today (I was just passing over my swoop). I was having to shake and/or twirl the cord to make it work... I'm hoping and praying it's gonna be okay!! I knew I shoulda got my pink Solia off Folica... Maybe I can get this repaired?

Some lady stopped me in the mall to tell me about this iron. She ran over my already flat ironed hair and made it look better than the other side. Then she curled one piece in a spiral and claimed it would last a few days . At any rate, I was not going to pay what she wanted as I really was not there to shop anyway, so I got my own off of ebay for twenty-something dollars. I do not use heat often, but from what I can gather, it's a pretty good little iron.

She lied to you to sell her product. The Chi is 100% ceramic. In fact, it was one of the first (if not the first) ceramic flat irons out there.

$120 for a Corioliss? She can't be serious.

Also, before I bought a flat iron, I looked at all the reviews. Folica.com is a GREAT site for reviews, among others. The Solia had the best/most reviews (4.51 out of 5 based on 2253 reviews). It is not just ceramic but tourmaline as well, which means it has more advanced straightening and heat protection technology than just the regular ceramic irons. It also has plates that dynamically align to your hair for perfect contact as you straighten so there's no pulling and you get it straight the first time without having to keep going over the same piece. I have the pink one and it works very well. I don't really use it much but my sister uses it almost everyday and she swears by it. This is the second one for me. The first one died after only 2 months. I was so hot. I took it back and it was a huge ordeal. I had to threaten to stand there and tell everyone who walked by that it was trash.. Anyway, needless to say I left with a new one and its been great. The customer service SUCKS!!

Interesting. After reading the reviews, other people were talking about it breaking after a short period of time. Girl, I'd take that back and demand a full refund so I could get a Chi or a Solia (or even a Sedu) if I were you.
