I HATE the hairdressers and avoid them like the plague.

The last time I went was end of 1999 to supercuts for a little trim when my hair was short.

Anyway who has gone longer than that? Im just curious

I know some people on this forum never went to a salon

But um the last time I went was for my touch up July 19, 2003. I am now natural and havent set foot in one since.

I've never had a steady stylist. I've only been to a salon to get my hair done for proms or dances while in high school. I have had a couple of layered cuts at salons before but I've never been an on-going customer.

The last time I started going was around 1993 when I learned to relax my own hair after the sissor-happy beautician I was going to "trimmed" my hair about 4 inches and didn't bother letting me know exactly HOW MUCH hair she was trimming. This happened when I went to my H.S. prom so I didn't know until I took my roll down... and screamed

In addition to the fact that I didn't have time to sit for 4 hours gettin my hair done, I just couldn't (or didn't want to) afford it anymore.

The last time I went to a salon was April or May 2002 just before I retired. My hair is doing much better since I left.

Last time for me was October '03. I think I'm pretty much off of the salons unless I can find a Dominican spot that can blow out natural type 4 hair when I finish my transition and am in the mood for straight styles.

My last visit was in 1996. I too avoid them like the plague. My hair is in MUCH better condition now than it ever was when I was dealing with them, letting them needlessly trim, burn and rake my hair. Most of the stylists I know dont seem to be concerned with the health of your hair and some of them assume that you dont know anything about hair.

2 months ago. im going to a different stylist probably next week, but not for touch up and if she so much as even glances at the scissors... i'm up and out.

Sometime in the late-80's for a haircut.
Have't been to get a relaxer since the early 80's.
Some of you probably weren't even born then.

March 2003 for my big chop. She didn't do a good job of making my twa even, but I didn't notice until a few weeks later. Haven't let anyone in my hair with scissors or chemicals since.

Well so far you have us all beat LOL !!!!

August 2000. Later that year I went natural so I never looked back.

But I will be going to one soon as I feel like wearing a professional straight style (a dominican blow-out or something when my hair gets satisfactorily longer- god knows when that'll be). You know, when I feel like showing off

' course I'll be watching them (and their scissors) like a hawk...

My last visit was 1/9/04 - yes I remember the exact date because I swore I would never go back! It's a pretty bad sign when you tell your hairdresser you DON'T want something and then 15 minutes later she asks you if you want it. Either she wasn't listening or totally disregarded my wishes - either one for me was an automatic dismissal. And let's not get into how much she used to cut off!
