Confessions:Tell what you'll NEVER do again

^^^ Dang shorty!

I can't eat cookie dough or taste cake batter or eat chocolate mousse because I know they have raw eggs. Actually, the last time I ate eggs, I cooked them myself and cooked em til they were brown and dry to make sure it wasn't raw at all. :lachen:

I will never use permanent color again nor MTG. Even though the MTG worked, I have found better without the horrible smell.

I will never again put extensions with glue in my hair and allow it to go unwashed or moisturized for months.
I will never use a flatiron/curling iron everyday
I will never put relaxer ontop of dye ontop of relaxer ontop of dye ontop of rinse.
I will never again blow dry my hair, EVER.

I will never relax straight.

I will never leave bleach on my hair for over an hour (my hair bleaches to BOZO orange and this is the only thing I could do to get past that color) so that I can have blue, green, and magenta highlights (not all at the same time). I never recolored them black or cut them out...eventually they were just gone.

I will never rely on a stylist to get my hair where I want it to be (health, length, etc.)

Lesson learned:
I MUST keep my natural hair restrained in some manner. I can't just leave it out in a puff for 2 days and not expect major massive tangling. Before my head hits the pillow my hair MUST be braided and covered with my sleep bonnet. I can't just slap my bonnet on top of loose napps and not expect to pay the piper.

THIS IS TRUE FOR RELAXED HAIR TOO!

I wont ever use Pink Lotion for my hair....slathering it on my edges and using that hard brush to make them smooth.

I'll never use a rubberband to hold my hair in a ponytail. I'd always have brittle, fluffy ends that wouldn't curl for lack of moisture.

This is awesome ladies! Thank you to all that have posted and for all the messages to come!!!! Whew....collectively we have had some SERIOUS horror stories.

No more braiding my hair and going three months without washing or moisturizing. And I used to wonder why my hair was such a dry brittle mess when I took them out...

Use phytorelaxer. I got it a few years back, my hair was under processed (in fact I don't think it took at all because my hair looked natural) and I had horrible breakage and shedding for the next few months. Luckily I had LHCF.

Trust ANY stylist with trimming my hair, no matter how long I've been to them. Thought my 3-year stylist knew what she was doing when she suggested trimming to make the ends look better when she pressed my hair... She trims it then says, "You should get it evened out at a beauty shop, I don't know how to trim."

Me: What?!

ROFLMAO!!!

I will NEVER cut my own hair.

I will NEVER get my hair cut. PERIOD.

I will NEVER bleach my hair blond.

I will NEVER go to a (Black) hairstylist as long as I live.

Major lessons learned:
-Do not 'dust'/trim one side of the front of your hair shorter than the other to have a 'side bang.' Now that side (the right) is slightly shorter than the left and will probably look funny if I decide to wear a middle part.
-Always keep some sort of ponytail holder or clip around if you are not an experienced wash n goer, b/c it may sometimes end up a HAM unknowingly.
-Oh and a big one...do not scratch my head before relaxing with a 'good' relaxer, even if folks on LHCF say that they scratched their own 5 minutes prior to application and suffered no burns. My scalp is relatively sensitive :(.

Minor lessons learned:
-Be wary of drug store brands, even those who tout themselves as "organic," i.e. Organix. Even though they're cheap, many don't work that well for me.

I dont know if someone has already typed this, but one thing I will NEVER do again is allow a stylist to trim aka cut my hair. I do my trims now.

i will never do a bc again.
i will never do blonde highlights again.
i will never attemtp to cut a v into my hair again, lol.

1. Air dry=Hot tangled mess:wallbash:
2.Wash n Go=Hot tangled mess :wallbash:
3. Wash hair and put in a bun/ponytail for week (no combing)= Hot tangled mess :wallbash:

I will never again allow someone to do my hair and not speak up if I don't like something they're doing. I used to be bad about this as a teen when I went to salons or when I had friends do my hair. It's why I almost always just do my own hair now. I don't have time to have a set-back b/c I was too timid with someone mishandling my hair.

Change my regimen.

More specifically buy products that don't fit anywhere into what I normally do with my hair and try to fit them in by changing my regimen. = Bad News:nono:

ETA: I just remember something I must've blocked from memory.

I will never let a friend weave silky tracks in my kinky natural hair, leave it undone at the crown area, throw a scarf on and then head to my boyfriends house for some night-time work. Needless to say scarves fall off, and my new pet name was "Friar Tuck" for 3 months after that incident.

I think my biggest mistake was putting the undone hair at the top of my head in a mini bun with a regular rubberband....oh and trusting my scarf too much.:ohwell:

Ooh, I got one: I will NEVER pre-poo overnight with raw eggs. I should have been cautious because raw eggs make me sick. Here's the story.

I was a senior in high school and my new Seventeen came in the mail. They had an article about healthy hair care and said if your hair was feeling damaged, try mixing a raw egg in your shampoo or conditioner. They also said for really damaged hair, mix a raw egg with vegetable oil and let it set overnight. When you wake up, wash and you will have beautiful, shiny hair.

So I did that and slept with a plastic cap. When I woke up, I instantly smelled the eggs and saw that the cap had partially come off my head. My brand new satin pillowcase was rock hard with dried egg. I then take the cap off and my hair is just as hard as the pillowcase. And the smell!! OMG!! I thought I was gonna die right there.

I then shampooed my hair like 3 times, but with the nicest smelling shampoo (like Herbal Essences and Pantene), but my hair still smelled like eggs. I then let my mom rollerset it, which took forever because my hair was dried out and brittle because of protein overload. The hair STILL smelled. So I sprayed some perfume in my hair, which covered it a bit but I still smelled it. I guess I'm just sensitive to eggs becuase the last 2 times my mom cooked eggs for me, I threw it up. (she cooks them runny).

NEVER EVER AGAIN!!

Yeah that rotten egg smell is something you have a hard time forgetting. Girl I know, first time I smelled that...some mean kid had stolen a duck egg and smashed it, and after it had been out in the sun all day.....:nono: I was 10 when that happened and my stomach still lurches when I think about it. Yuck!

I will never:

do a weave sew-in (my hair hates it)
try to go natural (my hair doesn't act right)
Go past 10 weeks for a new relaxer
braid my hair tight
flat iron every day

That is too funny!:lachen::lachen::lachen:

Permanent colour, I went from shoulder length to ear length:wallbash:
Micro's, my hairline is still recovering from braids I got 12 months ago:nono:

I will never add "highlights" to my hair again.
I will never use grease to flat iron or curl my hair
I will never use "spritz"!
