I condition wash whenever I need a moisture boost....so how often I do it may vary depending on my hair condition. I usually find that I'll do it about twice a month on my second month of stretching cuz my hair is at its dryest.

My fav cw conditioner would be suave milk & honey.

My cw method is similar to what everyone else explained: slather on dry hair before showering, bathe and shave- rinse out conditioner...apply leave in a seal with jojoba oil. I usually style my hair in bun or I'll ATTEMPT a twistout....

those things never really come out as expected....

I CW once a week (on Wdenesdays) I get in the shower, wet my hair, apply my conditioner, bathe, and then rinse it out. Works great for me!

I love CWs. So far I've been doing them once a week, which works well with my hair and schedule. Since the temp has dropped in NY, I have been spraying leave-in co every other night.

I cowash once per week, usually on Wednesdays. I use a cheapie conditioner, like Suave or V05. Here's my process:

-I wet my hair under the shower stream, then squeeze a liberal amount of the conditioner into my hair. I massage it in (almost like I was lathering a shampoo) and cover with a plastic cap.
-Then, I take a few minutes to wash my face, body, shave, etc. I let the conditioner sit like this to help loosen up any gunk I may have on the hair strands.
-After a couple of minutes, I remove the cap and rinse out the conditioner, using a shower comb to detangle.
-Next, I squeeze out the excess water and add my leave-in and oil.
-I twist my hair into a little bun, pin it up, or throw in a couple of flexirods so I can airdry. I may also add a little gel or Beyond the Zone Stiff Head to my edges before I tie it all down with a satin scarf.

My hair isn't all that long though, so those with longer hair may have different methods. Also, I found that cowashing was leaving my hair a little on the mushy side, so I just started a modified version (I saw it in KiniKakes' Fotki). I'm going to start using hair mayonnaise (Africa's Best) as a "pre-treatment" for about 15-30 min. before I cowash. This will act as a mild-moderate protein treatment, and help keep my hair from becoming over-moisturized by the cowashing process. I'm discovering that my hair likes protein.

Thank for the detailed instructions...I always wondered how people CWC. I may give it a try since I'm 7 weeks post.

I voted once/month because I only do them occassionally. In the past 2 months I've co-washed twice. Both times I did them, I really liked the results as myhair felt stronger and moisturized. I was thinking of doing it more often but I just don't have the time and I don't want to over do it.

I'm going to try this as part of supergirl's anti-breakage program. I finally got some length but now I have breakage. I think it's due to forgetting my vitamins for over a week, missing a couple of weekly hennas and of course, stress.

I cowash 1 to 2 times per week. I really like it. It helps keep my hair moisturized. I poo wash only once per week after which I do a DC.

When I cowash, I just wet my hair in the shower and use V05 or Sauve mixed with water to really get down to my scalp. Rinse and style as usual!

I just started conditioner washing recently with Nexxus Humetress. I only do it when my hair feels and look dry and frizzy. It made my hair soft, but I don't think I'd conditioner wash more than once a week.

When I co-wash, I have to co-wash everyday. I only do this when I wear my hair in its shrunken state. I use Aussie Moist Conditioner or V05 Tea Tree Therapy Conditioner. They are the best co-wash conditioners I've ever used! :weird:

I co-wash every morning with a variety of conditioners, just depends on how I feel and what I plan on doing with my hair that day, My favorites are VO5 Tea Therapy and strawberries and cream, Nature's Gate Rainwater and Awapuhi and Garnier curl and shine. Oh and Suave Citrus Smoothie!!!

I didn't vote never but I don't do planned co-washes. If my hair is feeling yucky then I co-wash instead of going through my wash process and a few days later its followed by my regular CWC (didn't even know there was a term for what I was doing). When I co-wash, I use my cheap VO5 tea therapy conditioner and apply that to dry hair very liberally then hit the shower and rinse it out. I never feel like my hair is the cleanest it can but it cleans whatever product NO NO that I put in my hair. However, when I CWC on the weekends, I apply VO5 tea therapy liberally then cover with plastic cap for about a hour, shampoo and conditioner (with another conditioner) and continue my process of DC'ing and stuff. This works best for my hair. I don't find co-washes all that beneficial unless I need a quick wash.

How often do you guys do this? I'm thinking of trying this, and laying off the blow-dryer, and flat-iron. I'm getting lazy, and it's a hassel to flat-iron. it take forever!! I'm even thinking of letting my hair air dry too. perhaps i'll get even healthier hair too:ohwell: Anyway, how do you guys CW your hair/ Do you just wet ur hair, put some cond. in it, and then rinse out, or do you let it sit for a while, or do you put on a cap and sit under the dryer? I've found what I consider to be the perfect rinse-out conditioner, so now I wanna see if CW works for me too.

I do all of the above depending on how much time I have and what my hair needs.

BTW, I voted every other day.

I do this everyday for the summer.. why not? especially since I dont wear my hair straight for the most part. I just co-wash apply bb oil moisturizer, hot six oil, pont tail, put some grease on the ends and edges, tie down for about 5-10 minutes and go... or I apply fructis soft curl put on a head band and go. later I'll french braid in 4-5 braids for a braid out if I feel like it for the following day. i've gained the most growth and health from this method.

I voted every other day, but really it's every 2-3 days. I am stretching and noticed that the more I cw, the easier it is to control my new growth, which is encouraging. So right now, my schedule is to cw Tue, Thu, Sun.

I co-wash everyday and I LOVE IT!!!
I just started using Suave: Tropical Coconut
I was using Mane 'N Tail's Original Conditioner
but that was before I knew any better
now I only use MNT 1-2 times/ week
I detangle in the shower under running water
and my Jilbere shower comb
I apply Wave Nouveau ML concentrating on ends,
seal with WGO, pin up ends
and wrap in a scarf until I'm ready to go out
in public and then I just take off the scarf and go.

Usually when I get towards the end of my relaxer stretches, i do them at least 4 times a week while I'm home from a trip. I then go to the Dominicans for them to rollerset me for work.

during the summer months it is either everyday or every other day. during the colder months it's more like once per week.

i cw twice a week, what i found out that's work for the buildup is, i add baking soda to the conditioner once a month and all the other times i add a indian herbs rinse (which consist of shikakai, bhringeraj and amla with honey). I have found out that the indian herbs help to get the scalp and hair really clean. I never have itchy scalp or any kind of flaking.

I really can't co wash, it has not caught on with me. I did it a few times but I guess my hair doesn't like it.

Sometimes I do this during the summer when I let my hair air dry, but I can only do it once or twice a month. If I do it every day or even every few days, my hair looks weighed down and greasy.

I have 2C/3A hair.
