Completely New Regime

TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
I am at an impasse as to what to do w/ my hair. The texturizer didn't last, the relaxer refused to relax.... I am going to try something different. I will combine the 2 challenges I had before. The stinky challenge and no relaxer challenge and see how my hair reacts. Perhaps I am meant to be natural after all. I just not sure what to do at this point in time , but wait.... :ohwell: Any suggestions?

maybe the relaxer you are using is too weak for your hair.
What results were you hoping to acheive with texturizer?
Is yout hair breaking at all?
Can you work with the texture you currently have?
Maybe using the right combination of products will help.
What is your regime?
Also what was your reason for texturizing?
This will give me a better idea to make good suggestions.
I don't think you should give up yet, try to experiement with braid-outs, twist-outs, puffs. It took me a long time to get the textures i wanted, but it took one stylist to mess it up, at least you don't have straight sections, you can probably work with what you've got. do you have any pics, i could view so i can view the textures, i may be able to help a little.

Hang in there Natrlchallenge, you'll figure it all out. If indeed you do go natural again, give it a little more time. That first inch or so of hair can be hard to deal with for some but after a while I think you would be surprised at how pretty and manageable your natural hair actually is. Just be patient and if I were you I would not put any more chemicals in my hair for a while, focus on conditioning and moisturizing. Don't worry, it'll all work out just fine.

Thanks for the help guys! Let me start off by telling u what my problem is. When I first texturized w/ S curl, my hair was 2" and I couldn't stop bragging' about it. It was great! Then I went on the stinky challenge and gained more hair. I had 9.5" of hair at the end of March. The texturized hair no longer looked texturized, it reverted back to my natural texture w/ extreme thickness because the challenge also made my thick hair more thick...hope this makes sense... Anyhow, I went to a stylist for a trim and she chopped off 2.5" of my hair!
That made the texture worse bec. The hair no longer laid down smoothly as it did before. I tried to relax it and it didn't work. I even used a super relaxer and left it on for 20 min. which I never do! It is bit straiter, but I can't wrap it smoothly around my head. I give up! My texture is still a 4ab mix- it is just a bit looser. I used Revlon's realistic super, but that still didn't work. I don't know what to do w/ my hair because it is too short for braiding or twisting. Any suggestions will be appreciated. For the time being, I'm gonna try to be on this new regime for one month, then go from there.

Ok, my advice is stay away from SCISSOR HAPPY STYLISTS and CORRECTIVE RELAXING....

If you want the hair to have more control and smoothness, try some pure unrefined cocoa butter/shea butter mixed with Pure aloe vera. the butters are excellent it helps to smooth my hair down, even though i haven't tried it with aloe vera people have testified that its great used with other natural products like butters.

Use good moisturising conditioners to soften the texture more such as Humecto/motions silk protein/Dark and lovely dry hair healer is excellent. Wild growth hair oil is very great for softening the hair too.

Can't you wear wash and gos, rinse your hair in shower and add some vo5 conditioner or another one without silicone, rinse it out a little for 5 seconds, just add a good creamy leave-in and scruch with aloe gel, excellent method by Lorraine massey curls expert. you should get good deifintion. you could also do some flat-twists, straw sets too.

HTHs, just don't do anything drastic, your hair will be fine.

Sorry to hear about your hair dilemma :whyme: Natrlchallenge  . Don't give up so quickly:naughty:. Den1 gave you some very great tips:yep: . I rotate between moisturizing and protein shampoos and conditioners. I also do pre-poo treatments every week, deep conditioners every week, protein treatments (Emergencee) one week before my texturizer and one week after my texturizer. I love to also use the VO5 conditioners:lick: as a leave-in conditioner followed my activator gel and a serum. It leaves your hair very curly, soft and moisturized. After using the Vo5 conditioner as a leave-in conditioner a long time ago I tried it this weekend after I washed my hair and I fell inlove:love: with my texturized hair again.

I also saw that you mentioned that the stinky challenge made your hair revert to natural. I realized that my hair too also looked dry and natural when I started to do the stinky challenge:nono:. So now, I started to braid/plait my hair after is has been airdried to keep my hair ends protected so that none of the stinky stuff will come in contact with my hair it only now goes directly on the scalp. But you said that your hair is not long enough to braid or twist so I don't know if that would work for you.

I suggest that you give your hair a break and keep it moisturized at all times and you hopefully you should be back on track in no time.
