Coconut Oil looks like Grease!

When I first put my coconut oil in the bottle to use I have to melt it because it's hard, then it turns to liquid. Then I notice that it turns from liquid to this weird looking grease that I have to reheat sometimes! Is that normal, I brought 100% coconut oil at the health store.

At room Temp. or above its pure oil. Below room temp it starte to harden. Its normal. I have used the store bought and I have made my own. Its NORMAL.

It also has a very low melting point, so it'll actually melt in your hands from your body heat. As the others have stated, this is normal for coconut oil.

I agree. I just take a little right out of the jar and work it into my hands until it melts then I put it in my hair. I don't heat it.

This grease like consistency is one of the things I so love about it!. bonjour

I agree with you. I use it to apply on my ends and my jar is little but I have had this jar for maybe 6 months or longer and it's still half full:blush: and don't look like it's disappearing anytime soon. Don't worry OP, it's normal for CO to look like grease:yep:

yes that is normal. just make sure you bought UNREFINED coconut oil. Refined coconut oil is for cooking and most of the healthy and natural ingredients that are good for the scalp have been processed out. Only use unrefined

My coconut oil changes form with the weather....But I like it best when it is solid ....Less messy....I put a little in my hands and rub and it melts in my hands....
