I have been trying as an add-in to my conditioners, as well as adding it to my glycerin moisture mix , but I don't like it :nono:

It has left a TON of build up on my hair, I've ben having to shampoo like crazy! And it just makes my hair feel weird... maybe I've been using too much or I just haven't been using it right... :ohwell:

I've tried it and other kitchen items (avocado, yogurt, honey) and none of them left my hair feeling in any better condition.

Actually, coconut milk left my hair feeling more wirey than normal.

There was a thread on this not too long ago. I will see if I can find it.

Do any of your conditioners have silicones? Maybe there's a negative reaction there. I don't use any products with cones or mineral oil/petroleum and I DC with coconut milk/coconut oil and shikakai powder. My hair is always extremely soft and lush afterwards. Absolutely no buildup or leftover oils on my hair.

I tried rinsing with just straight up coconut milk and it came out terrible :ohwell: There was a really greasy feeling residue, and it left my hair feeling wiry as well...kinda dry to be honest. I will not be using it again to say the least. :nono: I shampooed my hair 30 minutes later because I couldn't stand the way it felt or was behaving.

After I'm about 4 weeks post or so I like to use coconut milk as a pre-poo. Or do coconut lime mix treatments.

Check the label on your coconut milk. Make sure it doesn't have high fructose or corn syrup in it. That can leave build up and make your hair feel sticky.

NO Build up here for me....

I don't know how you have been using it... but- I have never had any issues with coconut milk condishes.

Good luck

i've made mine homemade for my dd's hair. i poo'd, co(hcm), and then cow'd. her hair smelled good and it was smooth. i didn't use anything else tho, just style as usual and send her to school.

It does the same thing to my hair. I absolutely have to mix it with my condish/clay mixture. That's the only way it works for me.

I DT'd yesterday with the following
Avocado
Honey
EVOO
& Coconut milk.

Coco milk is regular part of my regi; it has just enough protein and adds loads of moisture.:lick: ...and of course it does double duty in my kitchen! It adds the right kind of flavour to my rice & a different kick to my soups.

My hair mixes never contain more than 1/4 cup of coco milk. Usually I use about 3 TBLSP but will add more if my mix isn't creamy enough.

I just washed my hair with coconut milk Friday. But I always make sure to mix it with coconut oil. However, out of curiosity, I decided to add some lime, castor oil, neem powder, amla powder, and aritha powder. I let it set on my hair for an hour, and after washing it out, my hair came out very soft and moisturized.
