Hello

I am heavily considering the idea if possibly texturizing... posters on this board with beautiful hair like Sareca's are tempting me...

However, I wanted to know if any of you ladies ever completely coated all of your hair with vaseline or any other base to protect the hair while processing? I remember Beyonce advised to do this when touching up the roots, and I've done it on "old growth?" before.

Do you think this would be effective?

I cant speak on the Vaseline idea, but I alway coat my hair with a cream moisturizer and a moisturizing conditioner before a touch up.

HTH

I already add oil to the relaxer, but I still had a few straight parts. So after reading about JFM texture softener, I decided to try coating my hair in a thin oil before relaxing.

I part my hair in quarters (think four ponytails)

Then base my scalp with vaseline, petroleum jelly or the base cream in the stores... whatever I have at the time.

After basing, I put conditioner in my hands and spread it on the hair in each section... just the strands, not the roots. That's it!
