Yes, it should just like a pressing comb.
I personally blow-dry first to straighten it some and then flat iron it. At least that is the procedure they did to my hair when I used to get a press.
Also, use a serum 1st. No grease.

im sure it will will work for you, i use a chi and it gets my hair straight with one pass and half heat.
