Check this youtuber out...

YT was messing up- couldn't get to see some of it. But wow- first I just have to say Black men are making hairvids now! LOL- I guess that's great. are they on this board too?

It was entertaining to me. All I could do is laugh when he said that black men are going to white women because they like long hair and they don't like fake hair. OK- whatever-who are these black men that are making relationship decisions based on hair?

But anyway on the hair stuff, he seems to know a lot of things that we could do or should be doing- what did he say? 'when we're not yapping on the phone'... ok.. well I think we all know that hair is a lot of work- natural or relaxed and we can grow our hair and are doing so. But he said that he just took out his locks-right? so I wanna see what his hair looks like- like a month after when he starts losing some of that hair.

I'm not bothered by it- what did you think?

After he finished downing women for relaxers and weaves, he gave some info on his regimen. He does some sort of egg/mayo protein treatment and uses Fantasia IC products. I think that if he didn't include the negativity and it was just him offering tips, it would have been a better vid.

eta: oops. meant wigs n weaves (not relaxers)

i wonder why he puts shampoo on his face though.

I'm a pj... so some of the comments were valid... He was promoting that we can grow our hair long... I like that aspect of his YT. Also, his knowledge on hair care was impressive:yep:... I've never used any of those products... can anyone chime in on the products:grin:

He's been around for some yrs now..... I find his findings and techniques to be similar to those found here. Ex... he says he has the secret to soft hair....then he says the secret is to washing your hair almost every to every other day... thats no secret over here but he has listeners :yep:

Um...when i was in highschool. a lot of the black guys i know dated the puerto rican girls in school who hung out w/ the black crowd. You had your white ppl: some hung out w/ all white, mix, or all black. some hispanics hung out w/ all rican, mix, or all black.
Majority of the black guys would date the puerto rican girls because there hair was long or it didn't look a mess. Not sayin its a double standard but I can understand that a guy don't want a girl w/ damaged/jacked up hair. Especially in the high school era.

I've seen this video before. I didn't find anything wrong with what he said. I was actually impressed with his knowledge.

I'm at work, so I had to turn him off after his use of profanity. I read the side box though & I think he's wrong to assume that women can't grow their hair because of chemicals. Obviously many of us have.

He makes some valid points, but I couldn't watch all of it, the stuttering video was starting to annoy.

i just don't need another video, blog, post, rant etc. affirming that black women can grow long hair like it's news. and everyone *thinks* they know the "right way" to grow it. ok already. OK.

and he's saying "Moish"

"they make the excuse that it's too hard to manage. no it's not! just keep it MOISH"

and i guess since the packaging says that the product is 100% effective then how can i lose??

i can't take him.

i didn't find a thing wrong with what he said....he's a black man and who else better to know one probable reason that black men date "other" women...

and he was not dogging women with relaxers or saying that women with relaxers can't grow hair so i don't know where those comments came from on his page :perplexed: he said that HE likes sistas with BAAs and he doesn't understand why more don't wear their hair like that - those statements were not in reference to why black women can't grow hair, in fact he was saying that black women CAN grow long hair...

did he? i must've missed it because i recall him saying weaves and wigs...lemme go listen again....

eta: i didn't miss it. he didn't down women for relaxers in his vid. :nono:

That's the same way I took it. Reading some of the responses I was like:ohwell: maybe I need to go back and watch it again because I didn't take it that way.

i think this is where people may be getting it from (his video description)...he actually didn't say this in the vid tho:

"Many people believe that Black Women can't grow long hair but the fact of the matter is they can but many put too many chemicals in their hair which causes damage breakage and stunts the growth.Hair grows best in its natural form and because [of] perms and relaxers color dye and every other chemical black women put in their hair it wont grow so therefore they on average havent shorter hair than many women of different ethnicities."

I appreciate his advice, but I'm over seeing another black man try to explain what 'I' need to change to keep Becky from 'my man'. I love weaves and wigs and never had a complaint from the men I've dated. Everything's about what WE need to change. I don't see nearly as many black men doing the same.

I honestly didn't take it that way...I believed he was promoting Black Women can grow there hair long... We all know this here on this board, however, there are sooooo many that still believe we can't...

then that makes sense. because he said NOTHING like this in the video...

eta: thanks for pointing this out. i rarely read the video descriptions on youtube...

I've seen this guy rant and rave about other stuff. Just another black guy on youtube ranting about what black women should do or not do. I don't care for it.

I was gonna say this too. Everyone does not know the right way to grow hair.

I watched the vid again and he knows what he's talking about when it comes to hair care. I was like.....is he on this board somewhere, lol. He was basically saying that more black women should take the time to properly take care of their hair rather than cover the damaged hair up with weaves all the time which is something that we say here all the time. I don't think he was downing weaves etc., just saying take care of your own hair because it's not that hard to do.

that was my point, everyone thinks they know the "right way" to grow hair:

"do this, use that, keep it 'moish' and you're hair will grow...blah blah blah" i'm over it, especially as it pertains to black hair.

It's not fair to compare us to other women, because honestly it does not take as much effort for many non-black women to grow longish hair. For him to bring up our hair as part of the reason why black men 'stray' is pure ignorance. So she can wash and airdry with no conditioner and moisturizer and her hair will be long--yet I'm expected to be held up to the same standard when it takes more effort, just so a black man will hang around? Did no one else get offended by that?

Thank goodness he doesn't speak for ALL men because all the guys I dated didn't care about weaves or wigs, and weren't caught up on length, as long as I looked good overall. I don't see this same attitude with other races of men regarding their women. Always something wrong with the black woman. I'm so over it.

this guy knows what he was talking about regarding how to grow black hair (as far as i'm concerned) and the fact that he gave HIS opinion as a black man ONE probable reason as to why SOME black men date "other" women does not discredit what he says in the rest of the video.

he is not "telling" black women what they should or shouldn't do and he definitely isn't "telling" black women how to keep black men dating black women...

i think a lot of people got hung up on one or two words and ran with it. the main idea of his video (yeah, i took it back to elementary school ) is:

BLACK WOMEN CAN GROW LONG HAIR

that is the bottom line. i think too many people are getting hung up on the peripherals and NOT the content of the message.

well, we do need to keep our hair miosh :lachen:

well moisturized black hair generally equates to less breakage and less breakage generally = longer hair...

you're absolutely right. i can't get over moish! but this will be the last i say about it...:ohwell:

ita with the bolded.

he gave HIS opinion and there's nothing wrong with that.

my husband doesn't like fake hair and he DOES like long hair. my daddy doesn't like fake hair and he likes long hair too...the majority of black men i know like long hair and in my opinion black men tolerate fake hair because they are under the misconception that "their" women have to resort to weaves/wigs in order to have long hair...so rather than "straying" out the community they just deal with the fake hair... :imo:

is it really a secret that black men like long hair? hell, black women like it too, isn't that why we're all here :lachen:

i didn't notice it the first time i listened (i was too busy trying to figure out where he was from with taht accent), but i was ROLLIN' the second time...:lachen::lachen::lachen:

he does say moish!

The only reason that that didn't bother me was because I've seen his other video on black men/white women......he's totally against it and loves black women.

Oh I agree that it's no secret black men LOVE them some long hair on a woman. I'm all for a black man encouraging his women, just don't bring white women into the mix. Keep the focus on us.

See, now why did he have to bring up WW/BM in THIS video? He knows it isn't about hair. They are not more fly than us, long hair or not. :giggle:
