Ceramic Flat Iron prices

I've heard some good things about ceramic flat irons (CFIs), so I decided to do some researching. I went to metrobeauty.com and looked at a few. The prices range from $55-$350 ( YES! $350!) What da bluck?! Is this the typical price range for CFIs or is it ok for me to be trippin'? I've heard that Sally Beauty Supply carries CFIs, but being the recovering product junkie that I am, I have steered clear of that place for a good while. Holla back

I know you can get CFI's cheaper. I just got one at Sally's last night(for 39.99 +tax), I tried it this morning and it worked get. I really depends on what you are looking for. I would not spend over $90.00 for one.

Yeah the one I've told my fiance to get me for Christmas is the Jilbere Ceramic that some of the ladies on here have been talking about and it's only $39.99 at Sally's. Actually I saw some cheaper ones in the beauty supply near my house but I wasn't sure about the quality so I'm waiting for my present.

Get a Jilbere one. The one the other ladies mentioned. I bought one a little while back from a beauty supply store here in NYC. It was the LARGE version, with the wide square plates. It cost me $39.99.

The Jilbere one is nice because it has a temperature dial. A lot of other brands don't. Jilbere also makes a smaller plate ceramic iron that is better to get if you want to get closer to your roots when you straighten. I actually plan to get that one as well! /images/graemlins/grin.gif /images/graemlins/grin.gif (That will be my Xmas gift to myself.)

Valleygirl has the smaller plate one.

BTW- I used to have a flat iron by Hot Tools which was the exact copy of my Jilbere one (but with gold plates). I can DEFINITELY tell the difference in my hair (gold plate vs. ceramic). Ceramic seems to leave your hair in a better condition.

I am so mad all the Sally's in my area are out of stock of the Jilbere's. My mom's been trying to hunt one down for me as a Christmas present. She said a salesgirl tried to talk her into another brand, but my mom was like "NO she specifically asked for this one!"
