ATTENTION!! URGENT! Re: Jilbere Ceramic Flat Irons

Thanks Pandora

Regarding the "Ceramic Tools" labeling on Jilbere ceramic irons:

Yes, the OLD Jilbere packaging (blue/gold color scheme box) DID say CERAMIC TOOLS and mentioned Jilbere in smaller print. This is NOT the new packaging.

The NEW packaging is not blue anymore. Tt has a red/orange/gold (as I recall) color scheme and it ONLY says CERAMIC TOOLS in large lettering. Jilbere is not mentioned anywhere on the box.

Once you see this new packaging hit the stores, you'll notice the big increase in price (unless this is a phenomenon restricted to New York City where EVERYTHING is getting jacked up right now, sales tax, property tax, cost of subway ride, etc.)

I saw the Ceramic tools flat irons in Sally's today for $39.99, for the large and small one. I definitley want to make sure I buy the right one. For someone who has this iron, what is the model# (for the large and small one)?

Also, if this is the correct flat iron, I noticed that it gets up to 230 degrees, with like 25 settings (???????). Anyway, my old, no good flat iron only gets up to 170, with 20 settings. I plugged this flat iron up the other day, turned it to the highest setting, applied heat protectant, and this iron couldn't even remove the waves from my hair

. I only flat ironed a couple strands. So, I'm looking forward to trying a flat iron that works. Thanks in advance everyone!!!!!!!!!By the way, is everyone happy with this flat iron

and I just threw out the box 5 minutes ago so I can't get you the model number of the smaller one which I have. But from what you describe it sounds right.

What is up with Jilbere? I bought one of these a few months ago and yes it does straighten really well but within one month I was using it and the darn thing crumpled up in my hands. It just started breaking into pieces. I heard a couple of other people say the gold plates start stripping a short time after they've purchased it. Has anyone else experienced any problems?

I have had problems with my flat iron too. It seems like after one good month of straightening, the iron stops working. It doesn't even get hot. So I save my receipt and head to Sally's to replace my old one. So I really hope it doesn't go up in price because I will be pretty upset!

Thanks Sassygirl for the product number.
And Tee Tee, I don't know what to say to the below:

Tee, the stripping happened to me. I have the big one and it still heats up but it seems that it's scratched somehow and now pulls on my hair. I no longer have the receipt but it's after 90 days anyway so I can't return it. I'll be tossing it. I was only using it once a week so it can't be from overuse.

I don't think I'm excited about this product anymore. To me, it doesn't sound like it's too dependable for the $39 price tag. If they're poorly constructed, it makes you wonder why they're going up in price.
