I figured when the line went commercial it would become watered down, but I did love the healthy hair butter and hair milk when her products were gaining popularity. ETA: I would like to eventually use nothing but natural products and I never did use her shampoos so I might give them a try sometime in the future.

Remember back in the day when HHB first came out? It said to keep in the refrigerator. She changed the recipie. I still like and buy HHB and Mimosa Hair Honey. I also like the Tui Hair Oil (but it is practically the same formula as profectiv oil). I use the HHB when I am airdrying and I use the Mimosa Hair Honey when when I flat-iron my hair. That's all I use. A lot of people like the "smoothie" conditioners but there are so many others out there that I like better. I bought the Rosemary shampoo too, and I like the tingles, but I don't really use it often. I poured the Hair Milk down the drain (after one use) and am now using that bottle for coconut oil. I don't know anyone who would like that stuff.

So basically, my main staples are HHB and Mimosa Hair Honey. I like the Rosemary Shampoo and may buy it again.

I have been wanting to try the HHB and MHH but have been too lazy/busy to order. I think I will still order these products one of these days since you typed it's kewl!

Please let her know the her Saturday collection completely broke off my grandmother's hair, which was readily approaching APL. How, you might wonder? The products itched her so bad that she dugged through her own scalp, went mad with scratching and pretty much ripped her hair out.:perplexed

That is why you play it real cool and nice at first...tell them you just HAVE to rave about the product...OMG it was heaven...blazay squazay THEN when they put you on the air and they say "Hi, we've got Mary Beth from Salt Lake. Mary Beth have you tried the Hair Milk?" Then you say really fast...

"yesididitsuckedanditleftmyhairhardandgreasyanditain'tworthshat."

Then you hang up before they do it...DONE.

:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:This is tooooo funny!:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

The most overrated products on the face of the earth! They were horrible for me and cost too much money!!:nono::nono:

That doesn't include the fact that she doesn't even provide a money-back guarantee. I guess if she did she'd be out of business. :lachen:

Everytime I see Jada Pinkett-Smith's hair, I laugh. Cause I know she DOESN'T use CD's products, eventhough she endorses it!! :lachen:

This is so funny - just this past week there was a similar discussion on Afrobella about CD's hair products. The general consensus there was also that the products are not up to par. Read more here:

I too agree that the products suck although I respect the business behind it. The question is....if none of us are buying it, how the heck is that woman making all this money????

With so many of us "trying" out the products, she makes profit. Even if we don't come, someone else will still try it. There's gonna be plenty who hasn't heard the reviews, and want to see for themselves.

She probably makes the majority of her money on body products. She was smart enough not to focus on hair products. She's gone bankrupt by now!

I have tried lots of products that did not work for my hair after someone else raved about it. I do like her hair milk for wash n gos and the mimosa honey hair butter for shine. I really do not like fruity smells for my body so I never tried her bath products.

i like her products. i looooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the hair balm, SMM and all her body products.
just because you dont like it or it didnt work for you doesnt mean you should call up and say her stuff sucks.

she said she was joking.

Aww...:nono:

I'm pretty disappointed to hear of such crappy reviews. I'd hoped Carol's Daughter had some good products.

They certainly look good.

I was going to order...but after hearing negative reviews from practically everyone....

Same here...they sold out of everything yesterday! But I AM tempted to order that WEN everyone has been raving about...

This is very true. Very often when someone mentions that they want to start taking better care of their hair, Carol's Daughter usually gets a mention. The perception that her products are completely natural and better for our hair keeps first time buyers coming in. Especially since most people aren't the ingredient aficionados that LHCF-members are.

Also I think that because it is outside of the normal drugstore/BSS purchase for a lot of people, it has an air of upgrade/exclusivity to it. Before Sephora or HSN started to carry it, you had to put in some effort to get your hands on the products.

I use the almond cookie shea souffle (I like the way it feels on the skin and the subtle almond fragrance). In years past I have tried the mimosa hair honey (I like the way it smells). As a formulator of Mi~Joy goat milk soap, lotions, body butter I'd better never find the supplier of that FO; 'cause I'll be done. I formulate my own body/skin products.

i didnt see it was a joke.
i guess i take back what i said...although dont yall be messing with my carols daugher hair balm.

Yeah it was a joke. And actually If I was so inclined to call in and tell her the products didn't work for me I would do so in a respectful manner. But as I've stated already, this thread was just for $h!T$ and giggles
