HEY CG!! since i have been weaving it up it is a nice surprise to let it down. i love when i see it in pics and its crazy because the more i get, the more i want. when i look at old pics i can't believe i thought my hair was "long" then

Ladies,

Sometimes, when I take off my wig and undo my two bantu knots that have been baggied all day, I am AMAZED at the hair length and thickness I have achieved.

Truly, we are all blessed with the knowledge shared on boards like these. I catch myself saying "it's really not THAT long, but then again, it's longer than it's EVER BEEN in my ENTIRE LIFE even when mama was doing it back in da day".

It's like a God sent miracle. I know I spend time taking care of it-- and have, in a GOOD way for the past 2 years, but DANG I'm amazed.

Share your amazement here....:yep:

Yes! I know exactly what you are talking about. Just the other day after I washed my hair, I decided to press the back part to see how much it grew. My current length was half neck length and now it is just touching the bottom of my neck near shoulder. My hair has also gotten much thicker. I was like woohoo! Ohh yeah! I wear wigs too and by doing that, it keeps me from manipulating my hair all the time. :yep:

another thing OP - i'm so used to wearing my hair in shrunken coils, it STILL amazes me when i stretch one out to it's true length or when i get my hair straightened. still, to this day. like a little kid watching a magic trick... i just never get tired of it... :drunk:

yes, i know what you mean. I'm wearing a braided roots wash and go today. I took a little braided root and measured it this morning. The clump was about 3" long. Then I took a shed hair and measured it and that puppy was 12". "a foot of hair" sounds so long, but it always looks short. Most days I am happy to see 6" of that. I'm going to straighten soon and I'll be happy to see even 9" of it.

I'm APL and I am so happy that I made it b/c I wanted it so bad, this is the longest my hair ever been. I made it over the hump now I'm ready for BSL and seem to be the most difficult hump yet. I wear buns most of the times b/c its most convinent but when I let my hair down I am :spinning: at the length.

Oh please ST, your hair is much longer, I keep an eye on your little siggy for updates.

Waccha talking 'bout Willis????

I feel like SilverGirl... I see it in pictures but in real life I really don't see a difference. If I weren't documenting it... I think I wouldn't think it was growing.

when i was MBL i was only "shocked" to see it in photos, in real life to me, it didnt seem that long.

ill probably be more excited when i reach waist or tailbone length.

I cant wait to get to MBL but I feel the same way. I dont feel like my hair is really long unless I feel the weight of hair when I straighten it on my back or unless Im looking at pics of myself.

Every time I straighten my hair(which isn't often), I'm always happy to see that it's just getting longer and longer. I'm not at the point yet where I am floored by it or anything because my standards for length are pretty high so that's going to take a while.

But I am very, very happy with the continuing progress that I'm making.:yep:

no, i cant really.

whenever i do length checks

i always have to do it over and over again

because i think i did something wrong.

or i'm just imagining things/being hopeful.

I am shocked every single time I straighten my hair. my hair is so thick and feels long when natural, but when I straighten it I cant believe that this hair is on my head.
My fam&friends even ask if I am wearing a weave.:perplexed

I feel you.. I took out my first set of braids a week ago and my hair was collar bone which is amazing since I had it cut to my chin in January!! God Bless LHCF!!! lol

I know the feeling. I don't straighten my hair, but I rarely see it blown out. When I do blow it out, I am in for a surprise. My hair can look ear length but it is way past that.

I'm greatly I have this hair knowledge. My family don't want to hear any of it though and it shows.:nono:

Sometimes I'm amazed....sometimes not so much:rolleyes:

I will agree that LHCF is a God send and my hair has never been healthier or longer!!

Sometimes it is hard to believe! My hair has always been short, about neck length. So, now I'm in totally new territory. I don't wear my hair down very often, but when I do, I'm in awe...and my family is speechless. When I feel my wet hair touch my lower back when showering or when I do comparison pictures to see my progress, I am so amazed...and grateful for all the knowledge I'm gained from you WONDERFUL ladies.

I agree CG...LHCF is God-sent!

No I cannot believe it. I also cannot believe that it is as manageable as it is for me. I love it......I wear it down almost everyday.

Now if people would quit asking me if I am mixed, if I have Indian in me, if this and if that.............:drunk:

This is a great post, CenteredGirl, and a timely reminder for me to appreciate what I have. My hair has never been so long in all my life so I should remember not to take it for granted.

Thanks for starting this thread.

Can you Believe the Length of Your Hair?!?!?!

Yes I can. SL :wallbash: SL :wallbash: SL :wallbash:.
I've been stuck hovering around this length all my life.

Now, I've only started the whole hair care thing since the end of March this year so I'll come back and answer this question again in six months or so when I'm hopefully at least APL.

.........................:wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

I haven't gotten to the point of amazement, but my hair is healthier than it's been in YEARS. Moreso, I'm amazed that my hair is flourishing so much now that I've gotten rid of hair stylists. When someone asks me who did my hair, and I say me, and I get the  Wow! look, I feel break.

I've finally gotten my breakage under control so I look forward to retaining all of my length. It's creeping right on toward APL, which I haven't been in like 10+ years.

I'm somewhat excited! I think once I'm MB I'll start getting super charged:grin: but when I wear my hair down, I love how my hair falls over my shoulders and down my back. I have to try to stay out of the mirror:rolleyes:

for me it's less about length cause it was alot longer but it's about softeness and how easy i can comb my hair i swear when my mum did it when i was younger it was like murder but i suck with being natural and i'm sooo happy that it is so soft i would of never thunk it

I am amazed at the thickness I have retained with the length I have now. I have been this length and longer(mbl) a few times, but this is the first time that I am happy with the thickness.
