Ladies,

Sometimes, when I take off my wig and undo my two bantu knots that have been baggied all day, I am AMAZED at the hair length and thickness I have achieved.

Truly, we are all blessed with the knowledge shared on boards like these. I catch myself saying "it's really not THAT long, but then again, it's longer than it's EVER BEEN in my ENTIRE LIFE even when mama was doing it back in da day".

It's like a God sent miracle. I know I spend time taking care of it-- and have, in a GOOD way for the past 2 years, but DANG I'm amazed.

when i was MBL i was only "shocked" to see it in photos, in real life to me, it didnt seem that long.

ill probably be more excited when i reach waist or tailbone length.

My goodness!! I'd be on a gurney if I ever made it to MBL and you've been there and done that??? :notworthyGood Lawd have mercy. I'll check in with your at WSL. That should be like very soon cause your hair is banging girl.
 
I feel like that lots of the time. My sister will remind me saying your hair is long. I still feel like its short but it's longer than I'v ever had it.

I'm glad for having a picture journey album as I am able to see the blessing and say hey i guess it is long although it's not at my goal length yet.

Currently APL for the most part head to my next mini goal of BSB
 
I'm regularly surprised by how LONG my shed hairs are - they seem to go on and on, now - and I'm so looking forward to them getting REALLY long!
 
I guess I've gotten used to it over time, but then I'll see it on a random picture that someone has taken at an event or something and I'll be like--wow, I didn't realize it was that long.
 
i get so excited when i read your excitment. i read this post and the responses and i just got all happy for everyone. i still get surprised everytime i take my bun down and wash it. :grin:
 
This week is my I can't believe how long my hair is week. I just didn't notice it till I wore my hair down this week. I've been so vain this week :drunk:. In and out of the mirror, but it just feels good for all my effort to pay off.
 
I did a BC in January... and was forced to do a lil dusting since then... I was almost in tears when I wasnt seeing any progress... and then I felt a spider crawling on my neck... after smacking myself a few times, I realized it wasnt a spider, it was my HAIR... so while I have a LONG way to go, that epiphany was a much needed ego boost

Yeah, thats the same way that I feel. My hair is not only long, but it so healthy and soft (people at work keep touching my hair)
But also, I think that my hair is the longest that it has ever been. it's just amazing!
 
Well, this is the longest my hair has ever been. I have always worn short hair styles because of stylists who insist on cutting my ends :nono: and then cut off too much.
 
well i'm back to APL, not new territory for me. :perplexed

BUT, i can say more than length i'm amazed every day at the HEALTH of my hair. i've never had hair this doggone healthy in my life. sometimes i just examine a coil and admire the shine, or i just touch my hair and let the softness caress my fingertips.

i can't believe that my hair is so long and so healthy...
 
Wow, you know what? lots of you reminded me about the Healthy Hair factor.

I totally spaced that, but so true, so true. Long and HEALTHY hair or just healthy hair period is the best!

My hair is not really long yet, but I was amazed by its length as I was putting my hair in a bun today. I remember when I first went natural I could barely even get all my hair in a ponytail, let alone a bun. I have it in a wrap around bun and I haven't been able to do one of those since I was relaxed.
 
another thing OP - i'm so used to wearing my hair in shrunken coils, it STILL amazes me when i stretch one out to it's true length or when i get my hair straightened. still, to this day. like a little kid watching a magic trick... i just never get tired of it... :drunk:
 
I'm amazed at how fast it's growing and it's super healthy now - Not as long as it was but I'm on my way. It's healthier now then when it was WL though. Lot's of people used to say - it's never gonna be as long as it was - now I'm like:rolleyes: you'll see:lachen: This forum has been a blessing for me.

I love your post!!! You are so happy and thankful which is just wonderful to read!!!

I feel like you too- very blessed. My hair was in such terrible shape but I thank God for the knowledge that I have received from this board.

I'm thankful that I am retaining my length and my hair is in such healthy condition. I can go on about what length I desire but I must say that I'm very appreciative of what I have accomplished thus far!!!! :grin:

Thanks Semo...I really needed that hug. The length has been depressing me lately. I just want to be able to do a ponytail already. Growing out my hair is definitely teaching me how to have patience.

Your hair is beautiful. Everytime I look at your avatar I do a -double take - it's shiny and healthy:yep:
 
most of the time i feel like my hair isnt long and its not growing. but all the compliments i get make me rethink that. plus i have to remember i've only been on this hair journey for like three months....it seems like forever.

cuz some people are mean, spiteful haters. :nono:

i know you can do it trini_rican. i grew mine back to APL in just over 2 years, might have been sooner if i could keep the scissors out of it :perplexed but still. if you did it once, you can do it again! :yep:

I know the feeling.

Today, I looked in the mirror and wanted to cry. I know it's just hair but dag I got a long way to go:ohwell:

Centeredgirl what do you attribute your growth to?
 
ACTUALLY IM AMAZED AT HOW FAST MY HAIR IS GROWING.IT SEEMS THE LONGER IT GETS THE FASTER IT GROWS,BUT I DO BELIEVE THAT THE GROWTH IS NOTICABLE WHEN THE HAIR IS HEALTHY AND IN GOOD CONDITION.REMEBER HAIR GROWS EVERYDAY IN DIFFERNT PARTS OF THE HEAD.
