Can terrible cornrows become great braid-outs?

I suck at corn rowing. No matter how hard I try, I'm just really bad at it. I'm learning and trying to improve, but in the meantime I want to start doing braid-outs with cornrows. I'm afraid they'll turn out badly if the cornrows aren't nice and neat. Is there any hope for a great braid-out with not so great cornrows? I'm tired of plaiting for braid-outs and I like how cornrow braid-outs looks. Ladies chime in and post pics if you can. TIA!

Practice definitely makes perfect!! I think for a nice braidout you just basically need to make sure the braids are tight enough to make a wavy pattern. If I'm not mistaken. So as long as your braids aren't loose and coming apart I think you should be okay?
