Can anyone recommend a good conditioner for cowashing?

I'm looking for something that won't cause oily buildup... I'm new to this forum and a few people have recommended that I cut down on the protein-based products and deep condition instead. I don't know where to start!

Can anyone recommend conditioners for cowashing?

Deep conditioners?

Thank you! It's my first day on this forum, and I just want to thank everyone for being so helpful! I really appreciate all the advice I've been given.

i love to co wash. i do my first rinse with PM the detaingler or vo5 moisture milks to detaingle and then i leave a heavier moisturizing conditioner on for the remainder of my shower. i love aubrey organics honeysuckle rose, aveda brilliant, hairveda moist condition 24/7 and a few others.
herbal essence is also a big hit. i like hello hydration better than LTR but they are both good.
oooh.....i havent used my hello hydration in a while so i guess i'll use it tomorrow.

Trader Joe's Nourish Spa

Herbal Essences (LTR, TT, HH)

Tresemme (usually the ones for for curls/moisture and Thermal Recovery)

I make my own DCs, for moisture, I use Organic Coconut milk and olive oil; for protein I use make a simple egg and mayo mix.

As for commercial DC's, I would recommend:

Komaza Cares Intense Moisture Therapy
Organic Root Stimulator's Replenishing Pak

I'm an Ulta Girl but have never tried their products..may have to try this one out...

WEN is the best. You can't go wrong. It takes co-washing to another level and the scalp feels nice and clean afterwards. Gives my hair much body! LUV IT, LUV IT, LUV IT. www.wenhair.com

ITA on the WEN. It is AWESOME! AND it just about cuts out the need to use anything else. It's a bit pricey but worth it IMHO. :yep:

Any of the Herbal Essences conditioners, especially the dangerously straight
WEN
giovanni conditioners
TIGI moisture Maniac and Dumb blond- you can find these at TJmaxx lately too in big bottles

Welcome to LHCF

Here's my list:
Suave Conditioner or VO5 conditioner (any flavor :lick:) mixed with honey and EVOO (also can be used a DC treatment if left on longer) :)
Tressume Vitamin E Moisturizing Conditioner Co Wash
Capillo Cinnamin & Sole (Dominican) CO Wash- This is really good and it smells like BIG RED :lick::lol:
Nexxus Humectin or Humectress- This is a really good deep conditioning treatment and it can be used as a leave-in for ultra soft hair

In my album I have a few homemade deep conditioning treatments that I use. They are staples of mine. :yep:

Hmmm I think that's all.

My hair is really thin too... I can see through each strand! Kinda scary! Then again, I've dyed it so much that I've probably striped most of my hair away. That's the reason I'm on this forum.

I will definitely try Wen. Your hair looks great in the picture! I hope to be able to get mine to that length

Great idea - I didn't even think about mixing EVOO/honey with conditioner... I used to just use EVOO alone. I'll have to try that tonight.

Is the lavendar the only moisturizing one? I am on a limited budget and want to make sure I get the right one.

I'm going to go to Ulta today to see if I can find this product. I let myself purchase a couple of things every month after something else is gone...and I'm about out of my Giovanni conditioner and it would be nice to find something that is a bit less pricey for co-washing.

Is it good as a deep conditioner as well?

I have the fig...I'm not sure if it's moisture based, but I like it. My hair feels really soft afterwards. Some people complain about the scent. I must admit that I'm not in love with the smell, but it also doesn't make me cringe. HTH

All of them are moisturizing since they are all condtioner cleasners...but guess what??? In the other thread, someone mentioned that Sallys has their version that is under 10.00.

I will be getting some to compare. You should try that first!

Girlie,

If this is your hair in your avatar it sure is purrty! I think that you will like WEN but if you have a Sally's near by try their version.I just heard that is under 10.00. That will be my next purchase.

Thanks - I think I'll try the Sally's one first.

I agree wholeheartedly with this post. I see the OP is white so this line is perfect for her.

Livesoundtech, the WEN line has cleansing conditioners for ethnic and white hair. You can also purchase them on www.qvc.com and shipping is cheaper than the Chaz Dean store. I purchase mine from qvc.com. I don't do the standing order, I like to order what I want when I want it. Just put WEN in the search field and voila...all the WEN products will come up. I only ordert he cleansing conditioners but other ladies get a few of the other products in this line as well, but like RZILYNT says, they are a bit pricey.

ETA: I hear Sally's has a similar cleansing conditioner that is considerably cheaper called Hair One but they are selling out real fast. If you have a Sally's in your area, perhaps you should check it out. SelfStyled just started a thread on it right here. Check that out too.

Since you have oily scalp.... have you tried a clarifying conditioner from Vo5 or any of the cleansing creams. Wen, Blended Beauty has one, Hair One (sally's wen) and so on.....
