Can a pastor lay himself off?

Because we are facing a financial crisis, he says that everyone will be laid off, even himself.erplexed

To clarify, he's laying off everybody, and I guess all he will do is preach on Sunday's and perform funeral's.

I think if it were a job then maybe so. But its a calling... where God calls he provides for... something doesn't sound right to me, but will be praying for you guys...

Now the hireling flees because he merely serves for wages and is not himself concerned about the sheep [cares nothing for them].
