Ok ladies I'm going to dr next week and I'm wearing my own hair cause i can't afford to buy hair and get a weave and I don't want single braids.
And it occurred to me that my fave leave in for braid outs and wash and goes is lacio lacio but mine is almost finished and I won't be able to order more in time before I leave.
Do u ladies think I can get my hands on it while I'm down there ? And if so where? Would it be cheaper?

Please help me out ladies! If anyone has any experience of going directly to the source please let me know.

Where at in DR are you going. I stayed at Punta Cana. For me, the only way to get anything is off the resort. The resort I stayed at had a little convience(sp) "store", but the stuff was sooooo over priced it was crayzie.

If you are staying at a resort, please be careful if you leave. At the resort I stayed at, they had different excursions where you could go to different parts of DR and Haiti, but it was kinda pricey. Like to go to Santa Domingo is was 260 per person. Hopefully some of the other ladies can chime in. I went about 5-8yrs ago.

Where are you staying? And is it you in your avatar? If so girl you have nothing to worry about, lol. You'll fit right in if you leave the resort. I'd say to be careful leaving the resort if one looks/is white, otherwise we can't tell you a tourist

When I'm in D.R I get my hairstuffs from La Sirena. I live in the country over there though (in San Cristobal, like 40 minutes from Santo Domingo) so there might be a better place, that's where my fam takes me though. La Sirena is a huge store (a bit like Walmart) so I'm sure they're all over the place.

I'll add in that my BF and my sister in law are white European (and their families of course) and we haven't had an issue with any of them in D.R. People have stared, they've asked to take photos with them and for sure have tried to rip them off, but no one has gotten mugged or hurt. My sis' in law's dad has gone off alone in fact to "mingle with the locals" and all has been fine, besides the fact that he pays triple (or more) for the beers he has, lol. I would say to know what things cost beforehand, because as you soon as you speak English or speak an accented Spanish, you'll get the price hiked up if it isn't written on the product. Don't wear gold or flashy clothing/jewelry while out and you won't have much to worry about.
