Bunning and no heat, basically giving your hair a rest, really IS the business

This girl DOES NOT look like me. I really don't see it. I tell her all the time that her real mom left her on my doorstep. She didn't seem to impressed or bothered :look: :lachen:

Thanks for the compliments ladies. This whole bunning thing really is the truth. I was suprised at the wonderful state my hair was in after I flatironed. No heat for minimum 30 days is the way for me :yep:

Oh yes she does!!! And I'm usually horrible at trying to figure out if kids look there parents or not. That was the first thing I noticed!

And you hair is gorgeous! :yep:

i dont know if this was asked already , the Obama poster made me too dizzy to read anymore ... but what flat iron did your use ? your hair looks really nice

Bunning and no heat is definitely the business!!

Your progress is great but what wows me is how you have found your "happy hair niche",Fab! I remember when you were on the fence with your natural hair but you now seem more comfortable with your texlaxed hair.
You have beautiful hair and I can't wait for your next update, girlie!

Goodness gracious. Your before and after pics are crazy. Talk about progress!

WOW your hair looks really good. I love your soft curls.

Yeah using no heat, helped me thicken up my hair as well. I also doing no direct heat for 30 days. I have 2 weeks and some change to go.

yep :yep: this is the only way to grow for me...

leaving the heat alone was the HARDEST part for me when i started my journey...i lurrrrve straight swanging hair!
your hair looked great for your daughter's recital! grow fab!!! :woot:

firstly your hair is really so pretty
secondly your twin is too cute

thirdly, your whole post is on point. I havent used heat in 2 months and then straightened my hair for Halloween and I was rewarded for my efforts by gaining ridiculous length and thickness.

I am going to keep this up, because it is really saving my hair!!!!

This is all I ever do and I've retained much of my growth! I think I'll be bunning until I reach my hair goal and only take it down or rollerset for special occasions

First of all, your hair looks Fab ... Fab. :yep:

Second, I totally co-sign your entire post. When I was transitioning last year, I was able to grow my hair from just below shoulder length to past BSL in a year by daily bunning and virtually no heat (I only flat ironed once a month to check length). Now that I'm "natchal", I plan to use even less heat (I will only flat iron twice a year now). Again, my hair is currently below shoulder length. I should be able to get it back to BSL as a natural in a year again doing the same regimen.

NO DNA needed for the baby..

Thanks for the info, I will try a bunning challenge for myself... What do you use to moisturize?
Really a variety of things  My staple is the Pantene Relaxed and Natchal Deep condition mask. I am also falling in love w/ Hairveda :yep:

This time I used my Sedu. I also have a Maxiglide and i think i've just discovered that it (the maxiglide) has been killing my hair slowly :perplexed

It truly is the business i promise:)

I did a personal 30 day bun/up do/no heat challenge. I made it to 28 days but needed to flatiron due to attending my daughters recital so didn't make it for the last 2 days.

Anyway, when I flatironed my hair the thickness was incredible and i'm sure i've retained just about all that i've grown in 30 days.

Unfortunately I don't have an exact before shot, but, here's a pic I took in the last 30-40 days (i think):

Here are pics I took tonight:

I have learned from this that my hair is not ok w/ frequent heat usage. I know it's great for some, but really it's not for me. I will be back to my no heat regimen for another 30 days starting maybe at the end of next week. At least now I can use these photos that I took tonight to gauge any progress that I will get. It will be time for my touch up after a 12 week stretch in about 30 days too so those pics will be interesting.

Thanks for Sharing this!

Your daughter - Is SOOO Super cute!
