Braiding and Smooth skin

Okay, I have been saying I need to ask this question and if I already have, please forgive me, I can't even remember right now.

Do any of you experience smoother skin after getting your hair braided? I do, my skin just glows. In fact, my roommate and I use to plan our hairbraiding session before going out not only so the hair is fresh but so we could have glowing skin. I have had my husband and another male tell me that happens when they get their haircut.

I wonder is it almost like a scalp massage and just gets the blood flowing so your skin looks great.

Anbody notice this? Any ideas what is happening.

if i had to guess, hair that is braided back is off the face reducing hair to face oil but skin is also being pulled back. hair doesn't have to be braided tightly to notice a light glow, but if you were to stand in front of a mirror and pull your skin on your forehead back, you'll notice the difference.

I have braided my hair for many years and it seems to have the effect of a mini-face lift. However, after four weeks, this fresh faced look disappears completely.

Okay, so yes braiding pulls the skin. But that doesn't explain when guys get their hair cut and also I am just really talking about smooth skin and it actually glows. I started noticing this when I was just 20 and I didn't need a lift. It was just straight glowing.

I have no idea how to research it because it puzzles me. I just wonder are you giving yourself a scalp massage when braiding or guys getting a haircut (like when a guy gets his hair faded and they keep pushing the clippers into their scalp to fade the line plus just the regular haircut). I just thought of something...it happens with my 3 boys also and I just always thought it was because every black man/boy looks 10x better with a fresh haircut. This is something more plus my boys don't need facelifts. Also when I braid my hair if I have a blemish it dries up and the effects I am talking about only last a couple of days at the most. Not like when hair is braided too tight and you end up pulling your hair out...not tight anymore (whomever is still doing that needs to stop)
