Braid Challenge Update

I have had my braids approximately two weeks, and my hair has grown so much already!! I started taking powder MSM the same week, no more sneezing or flu-like sickness(YEAH!)so I don't know if this is having an effect or not...I am also taking EPO and my boyfriend asked if I was pregnant(LOL) because my breast felt fuller...this is crazy becuase he doesn't believe in NOTHING I use so for him to comment on this is significant...my braids are already tired looking, so I don't know if I can go all the to the end of April...
 
I did my own braids and was so happy with the results. But my hair grew like crazy too so I had to take them down after three weeks

I've had my braids in for almost 2 months now and I don't know if i'lll last that much longer. I see significant growth, but I want more.
 
I've had my braids for 7 weeks now and it looks like I have a lot of growth. I plan on keeping mine until for 10 weeks, until Spring Break.
 
I've had my braids in for nearly 3 weeks, and I'm ready to take them out. I'm going to try to hold on to them until the middle of March, though.
 
Mine are looking like they need to be redone myself, and it's only been 2 weeks! Either I suck at doing them and they're sliding down or I have between 1/4 and an inch of new growth all over my head. This is crazy

- they usually look neat up to to at least 3 weeks.
Well, I'm just gonna re-do the edges and other parts that are too far from my scalp and see how it goes...
It took way too long to put them all in for me to take them all out now!!
 
Mermaid no it is not to late to join!

I have had my braids from since January 21, I have alot of new growth (I am mad because I don't think I reached an inch) It is not really noticeable under all this weave though lol.

So I went out and got 100% whey protein Sat. vanilla flavor and mixed it with vanilla soy milk, it really is tasty

I've had the braids in since Jan. 5th. It's more than 2 months now, and they're hanging all over the place!

I can't tell if it's an inch or more because of the coils, but I can definitely see that my sides grow at a slower pace than the rest of my hair.

Any suggestions on how to help the sides maintain the same growth rate as everywhere else? I sleep at night with a scarf, but it doesn't seem to help much with my sides.

this is the first time in years I have not had braids in my hair during this time. Truth be told I dont think I will get braids again at least not done where I used to get it done. But it is good to hear the success stories of everyone. God bless you all.
 
I have had my braids in from since January 21 and I think I only have half an inch

If anyone has any ideas please help me? I do massage my scalp 3 times a week!
 
I'm still holding on. I've had my braids in since February 14th. Right about now....they're busted. I will be taking them out on Friday and getting them done over on Saturday. Even though my man keeps telling me that they look fine! I guess he doesn't want me to take them out since he paid the 90 bucks to get them in! Noooo these suckers are coming out! I am going to post some pics of this style (when it was fresh) and the new style I get on Saturday.
 
I'm taking my braids out tomorrow. I have about a 1/2 inch of new growth, and the braids are starting to roll around at the roots. That can cause breakage, I think, so it's time to take them down & give my hair a rest for about a month. But I'm going to miss the low maintenace & length! I am convinced now that I look better with long hair.

My update:

I took my braids out last week saturday and wow my hair is thick and feels/seems more even in the back. Had a rough time calming the hair down, pressed, blow dried a lil bit of it, put 7 or more products in my hair to try to make it easier to smooth down, curling iron on it. But i was finally able to get it all calmed down yday. lol. I happy now. The back is so nice and thick and full and bushier it touches more of my neck now. My right side is now FULLER and more even looking i am sooo happy. My left still has maybe an inch or so to go. I lost ALOT of hair due to knots and me not knowing how to take them out right. But its like you cant tell cause it is mad thick and so full. I so happy. I think im gonna get back to braids again next week cause im off. These Women's ultra mega along w/the HSN vitamins and the s-crurl mixed w/water and s-8 i was using did gr8 and im going to do it again.

DITTO! I actually had to take mine done and have then done over (cornrows - last week). Now, they are looking sorta 'not cute'

So I think I am going to put it in a braid and wear a drawstring for the rest of the duration!

Im doing okay. Im spraying with herbal essesnces leave in and sealing with coconut grease. My braids are growing out and the front needs to be done over. I belive that I cant stretch it out to April 20th...wish me luck

I this from GNC the name is GNC PRO PERFORMANCE 100% WHEY PROTEIN it comes in bag like package with a ziplock on the top. It has 21 grams of high quality protein, it dissolves quick so it is easy to mix. Oh yeah I got the FRENCH VANILLA flavor. And all I need is a spoon to mix it I was impressed

I've had my braids in for three weeks, but i'm keeping braids until october. there are so many different fum styles to try with braids. they don't have limited possibilities as I thought.
 
its been about three weeks and i have about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch!
NYkers- where can i get braids done for cheap next time?

It took 9 hours...it was my first time doing them myself!
